I listened to a 60min+ long interview with Manny not too long ago. He said that he's done everything to make the fight happen. He gave Floyd the bigger cut of the money, choice of gloves, even said he would give his paycheck to the charity of Mayweahter's choice. I believe the guy. Floyd has been looking out for his record for a long time.

Cherry picker supreme, Floyd is a smart guy in the way he picks his fights, he's carefully doing all he can to minimize the chance of losing his '0'

Mayweather will most likely win but hes such fecking cnut...this fight should of happened years ago. When he wins he will run his mouth about this and that, best ever blah blah blah but everyone with half a brain knows he ducked as long as he could.

Hope Manny is 100% focused and puts the politics on its head for the next few months!

Anyone going to go out? Has tickets been released yet?

Wouldn't be surprised to see Mayweather drop out of the fight.

He clearly never wanted to face Pacquiao, he's been forced into it.

The thing is, I can only see a Mayweather on points win if he turns up, although it won't be as easy as some of the recent fights he's had.

I'd be amazed. He likes money and there's a lot of it on offer.

He didn't want to face Pacquiao until the latest point possible, so he could continue making lots of money without too much of a risk to his undefeated status. It's the perfect time now. He's facing a lesser opponent than he would've back then but still the biggest name after himself. He's got it entirely right.

so pumped for this fight, i know its lter than we all wanted but i still can't see how it will disappoint. Manny alone will force this into a spectacle as i fully expect him to swarm from the first bell to the last.

I'm not sure if either man has the power to knock the other out anymore so going the distance is the most likely outcome. Usually you back floyd in such a scenario given his defensive skills but Manny throws sooo many punches i'm not sure if he'll be able to land enough counters to really catch the eye.

Having said all that, the amount of money that'll be at stake here makes the dark arts within boxing a very real threat to the fight. i can see a draw or a controversial mayweather win all designed to set up a rematch
possibly after knocking out kahn and making it the big 50th fight to retire on

Mayweather on points IMO.

I'm rooting for Manny but I think too much has happened since 2009 when it should of happened, politics being the main one.

I think Floyd will commit very little in the fight and play for points, Manny will need a knockout.

Heard only like 200 tickets going on public sale. Perhaps not even that many.

This event is going to redefine the whole concept of ripping off fans.

MGM properties in Vegas (half the strip) are showing the fight on closed circuit feeds to big screens in their casinos and charging $200 to get in.

PPV is going crazy expensive, they'll probably charge superbowl levels for advertising on TV between rounds, it's all going to be just mental.

IM dying to see it but I ain't paying shit for it. I might have done 5years ago, but both of these fighters are past their best. Hope Manny wins though although I can see Mayweather possibly pulling out of the fight beforehand.

Some serious underrating of Mayweather going on. I, like most, think he ducked this fight until now but the fact is that the guy is an excellent boxer. I reckon he would have won it 5 years ago anyway, he was probably just afraid that Manny was the one guy with the power to punish one defensive mistake with a knock down. Regardless of the ducking or him being a twat Floyd is a ridiculously talented boxer.

Why would he make the fight and then pull out? He'd be setting himself up for ridicule and criticism for no reason...

Oh man, why couldn't they have both fought each in 2009 or 2010 when they were in their respective primes? I'm still massively looking forward to this, but some of the magic has gone from the fight.

True, but I think his precious unbeaten record means more to him than any criticism that might come his way. He wouldn't be the first boxer to do it. I hope he doesn't mind you.

Of course he's a talented boxer, that's why everyone's angry with him. If he was just another Joe we wouldn't give a shit.

The fact is greatness in boxing is not measured on paper. By slyly delaying until the main opposition is not at their strongest hardly indicates a 'great' boxer. Talented maybe, but with a dubious undercurrent.

Imagine Ali postponing Rumble in the Jungle because the opposition looked in too good a nick. Then he won 5 years later. Oh whoopie.

5 years late, this isn't the Manny that retired Hatton and De La Hoya. He seems less powerful and agile. Just doesn't have that hand speed that made him look invincible. Pretty surprised that people think Mayweather will win on points, I think beating Manny on points is nigh on impossible. He throws just too many punches. Reckon Mayweather will win by knockout but if it goes the distance, I expect Manny to win it.

Morales, Marquez and Bradley were all able to win rounds vs Pacquiao. Accuracy beats volume. Unsure about Floyd's power. The last time he really hurt someone was Cotto in the 12th round.

Apparently it's going to be £66 in the UK

If that's true then I won't bother. Complete rip-off. Most I'd pay is 15, 20 at a push. Otherwise I'll just watch the replay for free or find a stream.

Will probably just group up with friends who also want to watch it and split the cost. I know at least 10 will, so that's already £6 each.

I think this is the first boxing match in which I desperately want to watch live on a TV (apart from actually being there obviously).

That's in the US. Shouldn't be more than £20 here. No one will pay £65 for a 4am show lol.
The bidding process will be insane, BTSports. Box Nation. Sky and possibly ITV will want to get their hands on this fight. It's not going to cost anywhere near £20 considering the interest in this fight.
This is going to be a once in a lifetime fight, years in the making.

I don't think it can cost more that £20. The UK public have never paid for than £14.95 for a Boxing PPV, and we've never had a PPV without a British boxer. Mayweather-Hatton did 1.2m ppv buys just in the UK, doubt this one will do much more than that.

Hope you're right. However this fight will be a lot bigger than the Hatton fight.
