Match Compilations

Match compilors two games I'd really like to see is Keane Vs Juve in Turin and Rivaldo Vs Valencia. The former to use his best game to answer whether Keane was actually a DM. And the latter because it is up there with the single greatest performances of all-time

Video quality was pretty awful here so I probably missed the odd touch and didn't include much off the ball stuff at all but it'll do the job...

fantastic, is picked in almost every draft yet i had no clue how he plays so its nice to see some footage. Didnt know he was right footed, its actually insane how many great left backs are right footed, way to many that its just the case of a bigger pool of players to choose from. Maybe they should try left footers as right backs....

@Ecstatic and Camacho say hi

@Pat_Mustard Good work. I've always wanted to see Marzolini at club level.

Cheers lads :). I was sort of hoping that he'd play a more attacking style at club level, but for now he remains filed in my brain as one of go to options as a quality defensive LB. A handsome bastard too, just like the gold standard in right footed defensive left backs.

Really good work. Actually chimes well with the description we've heard of him to date along with the national team footage.

:drool::drool:

Some of his titles are quite amusing. The Rui Costa one with "when Modric would just be a regular player" :lol: is bound to draw in the comments.

Made one for Stanley Matthews. Film quality isn't great (though surprisingly good for that era) so I was highly reliant on the commentator in the first half especially so hopefully not too many omissions or bits wrongly included.

That game reminded me how much i love Becks so he is next.

He had a surprising burst of pace did Becks in that video.

Conclusions from the video. If you want peak Keane-

1. Do not play him as a pivoted DM. He gets forward much too much and his positioning was generally much higher than you'd want for that.

2. In a midfield two you can't have a rather attacking CM alongside him as he wouldn't be able to drive forward enough. Keane and Davids midfield two would be fine but Keane and Modric less so.

Overall Keane is a defensive box-to-box player with surprisingly good passing. He rarely gave the ball away in that video and made quick, crisp forward passes. Not fancy, but effective.

damn shame we didnt see peak Scholes and Keane together :(

@Pat_Mustard

Excellent stuff on Matthews. I was surprised to see him drift to the inside-left position on occasions. That said when he was on the right wing he had almost no support from the inside right or a right-half. Crossing was a bit hit or miss but his dribbling was mostly excellent. You can see how much damage he could do. At one point they seemed to have three men on him.

Thanks mate. It was interesting to see him popping up infield looking to make something happen as Blackpool chased the game. I'd still consider him one of the most straightforward of the greats in terms of playing style, as his game was very heavily skewed towards staying on the wing and beating his man on the outside, but things are rarely as clear-cut as we tend to make them in match discussions.

Long overdue. Preben Elkjær vs USSR in one of the most entertaining games of football ever played.

Looking what to watch tonight and cant decide so remembered you asked for Rivaldo but it looks like there is already an all-touch compilation on youtube.

Did not know that. I couldn't find it when I'd looked before. Will watch soon. Thanks for the info

@Šjor Bepo and any other all touches creators.

A vid of Passarella would be interesting. I haven't seen any for him and given the recent debates on him it could be informative
