Match Compilations

Baggio in his final season for Juventus. A shame he left just as Juventus were about to become one of the more dominant sides in Europe.

No wonder they call him Magico  .

More to follow, quite the entertainer.

 fun watch.....low socks, hippie hairstyle and taking the piss out of everyone, Ronaldinho who?

I think this is the first and only Hanappi compilation on YouTube so far. Defensively he reminded me of Tigana – great positioning, aggressive tackling, but sometimes he simply lacks size/weight to make a difference. His ball-playing skills were better than I expected.

@GodShaveTheQueen I know you love the oldies just as much as I do

Great watch as usual @harms

My impressions of him when I watched this full game were quite similar. From reading, I always pictured him to better defensively and decent on the ball.

The footage throughout the game indicated the opposite though. Excellent on the ball, not just the passing but the dribbling as well.

Good positioning and reading of the game off the ball, but his tacking or workrate closing down opponents didn’t impress me all that much considering the expectations I had.

I expected him to be a Tigana or Bremner-esque player but felt he was more of a Blanchflower kind of player both on and off the ball.

Genius:drool:
if he came back now, zero preparation and im pretty sure he would be the best midfielder in the club. Not that is a tough competition.....

This is better than porn*. And yeah, click-bait titles here I go!

*some

One of Baggio's best playmaking displays with regards to his incisiveness.

Wanted to make a compilation of Greig but simply couldn't ignore another genius performance by Der Kaiser. That control at 3:45

Greig himself is interesting. In a team of a bunch of aggressive hard-tacklers he's usually the one who drops back and covers the free space, regardless of where it is. It's really hard to show this through a compilation though. Also, nice passing!

Rangers had to start their reserve center half as a striker and still almost managed (and probably should've) to win against Maier/Beckenbauer/Müller's Bayern. Greig was simply brilliant, fantastic positioning, constantly moving along the backline (nominally he started the game as a center back) and even providing great runs forward and some long-distance shooting (one even hit the bar) and passing, of course.

Great work harms, love to see this. Often described as quite a dogged player, and while that comes through to some extent in the compilations, Greig’s reading of the game and passing through the lines stand out a lot.

His versatility and composure on the ball and his reading of the game really did stand out whenever I watched that Rangers side or the Scottish national team.

Not his greatest game but as always, showed real flashes of class.

Zanetti though

So, after my previous attempt getting blocked, here's my match compilation debut - just found out that @Invictus has done the same game a few months ago

The focus of both comps is still different, so the effort wasn't wasted. Mine follows the Sjor Bepo school of match comps - maybe a bit encyclopaedic, but a pretty complete picture of Buchan's performance and style.

I'm gonna write a bit more about it in the upcoming match thread. But I must say, learning about Buchan as a defender and United captain has been a bit of a revelation.

Cheers guys! Any tips for future comps are much appreciated.

Got my spot in the OP too

Here. So maybe it's an imposter account? Or Invi's secret comp space, which I have doxed now?

Depends on what you're using, I guess (Windows/Mac), although it's not like there are too much secret tips on how to make those, they are quite simple.

Btw, who were claiming the copyright on this video when you were posting on YouTube and did you send an appeal?

I mainly thought of conceptual things like rookie mistakes in editing or something. (Good ole Sjor has already sent me a tip in that regard.) Technics seem straightforward indeed.

UEFA (was a CL match), and I appealed, ban upheld.

The Ivic's video looks like a @Šjor Bepo's one if I'm not mistaken. So yeah, looks like some kind of a storage account @Invictus? Or we should link it in the OP.
Oh, I had completely forgotten about that Vimeo account. The Ivić video is @Šjor Bepo's (uploaded it there because Dropbox and Zippyshare didn't work for Raees), and Sergio Busquets - Emperor was reuploaded from ok.ru (also for Bepo as it's one of his favorites). No need to link it in the first post...I don't remember the password, and only the Buchan vs. Liverpool compilation is original work.
