Were there any gameplay differences for that final battle if you hadn't recruited everyone?
If you don't like RPG (especially old RPGs) then the first game sucks a bit. I think that combat is quite good, but not if you're only experienced with shooters. The strength in combat is customizing the weapons and combining weapons with other powers, not on being precise at shooting. The first game so far is ok, storyline is fine, combat is pretty sucky, no running and jumping I find ridiculous, and the way it makes you go in and out of your journals and maps every damn time is annoying. Suppose it all immerses you in more having to read everything and find everywhere.
I think that the expectation this time are significantly lower than for Mass Effect 3, in addition to being the start of the story (not the conclusion), so if it sucks, you just stop it playing and don't play the others.looking forward to the meltdown when the game inevitably disappoints many super fans

Have they said whether it's going to be a series of games again or if it's just this one game?I think that the expectation this time are significantly lower than for Mass Effect 3, in addition to being the start of the story (not the conclusion), so if it sucks, you just stop it playing and don't play the others.

Didn't the weapons got overheated? For the final boss fight in ME1 I literally just run in circles holding the trigger for about a minute.
Saren was a great villain.
imho the time to be concerned is next month, not now. The decision to release less gameplay vids can/should be a conscious choice until a certain point.Anyone else a bit concerned by the trailers and the lack of gameplay videos? I'm excited and I'll buy it either way, but something seems off to me. I'm expecting a flawed game

They did, but the most advanced gun would go on forever and cool down quickly if you stopped just before overheating point.Didn't the weapons got overheated?
I actually struggled with Saren on the first one. Needed 3-4 attempts to defeat him. At the contrary, I found very easy to defeat the baby Reaper in the second one. The third one didn't had a final boss, but remember finding the last mission quite difficult.
It's been so long since I've played them, but I do recall liking the first one the best. Played on a XBox, mind you.The combat in the first game was proper rubbish, and I mean rubbish, and that's from someone who really liked the game cause of the story and RPG elements. Anyone who's telling you the combat is better cause it's 'less dumbed down' than the other two is talking shit. I mean sure, it's less dumbed down in that it has loads of terrible features. It's just terrible for a TPS. The mouse and keyboard suck, the enemies are crap, the AI is crap, the aiming is crap. I'd be happy if I could play through the entire first game without having do any of the shooting. The 2nd and 3rd are actually pretty good TPS games in their own right, it's just that all the nerds who loved the story of the first got all moany cause they mainstreamed it for those two and sacrified some of their beloved RPG elements in doing so. Lil bitches.

I am a huge fan of the original trinity (yes, even ME3) but havent really been too inspired yet by Andromeda. I dont know, I just feel that the biggest attraction of the first three was the characters and relationships you form - I would have rather had another installment in the original galaxy with some of the same characters etc.
I'm with you. It lacks something, I can't pinpoint what though. Someone said travelling to Andromeda doesn't make much sense for the series and I agree with that. Just going there to explore or resources doesn't do it for me.
I'm going to hold off pre-ordering it for now, unless I see a great deal.
Saw that, graphics look great, the animations kinda meh. Good video though

Agree with this. The story of the original trilogy had me absolutely hooked, I loved it. Andromeda definitely feels very meh from what I've seen so far.
That latest video makes the game look way too combat centric. I know that's the way Mass Effect has been going with each new game, but if it's at the expensive of story and other RPG elements, then it's not a good thing.
I pre-ordered but then cancelled. I'm gonna wait and see.
You did the right thing, it's good to wait sometimes. I think the game looks far too generic, just doesn't have the ME magic. I want to say the characters look bland, but we haven't seen much of them, so I think they should have focused on that more.
I do like that they're keeping the story a mystery, but they should have showed a bit more or even dropped some hints.
Unfortunately not before the game, but http://screenrant.com/mass-effect-andromeda-books/The original ME had one, if not two, novels with back story to the universe before the game was even released. I read the one about how Saren found Sovereign and that got me really stoked for the game. Nothing like that for Andromeda that I know of. Story was everything in the previous ME games, it feels less so with Andromeda and as you say, that makes the game pretty generic.
By the end of the whole trilogy on the whole, I'd have to disagree and say Mass Effect's biggest draw was the characters. It was a sub-par attempt at an epic story, too similar to Dragon Age: Origins in terms of 'chosen one leading talented squad to end an ancient threat that recurs every x-amount of years', with ME 1 being the exception.Story was everything in the previous ME games, it feels less so with Andromeda and as you say, that makes the game pretty generic.
The story/plot was crap for the last two installments. It got by on character development/interaction, which is what BW is best at now.The original ME had one, if not two, novels with back story to the universe before the game was even released.
