I don't find people seeking to understand reasons behind actions as disgusting. I find the excuses that you've concocted as disgusting because they are of no relevance and have gone off a deep dive into pseudo-science nonsense as @Lash points out.
I think if your defence of someone doing what Greenwood did starts going into someones frontal cerebral cortex developing then you need to have a word with yourself. 
His fans claim he is a United player and we should discuss him on the forum. Those who think less favourably of him think if there is discussion it should include the context of his 'loan'.

There are consequences for someone, but who no one involved directly or indirectly is requesting a consequence for, no case has been proved in law.... as others have stated that's why we have a legal system.

If he didn't want strangers to express their opinions on his treatment of women then he shouldn't have (allegedly) violently assaulted his girlfriend. This isn't trial by social media, it's people not wanting their club to align itself with someone that's (allegedly) violently abused his partner.
As for him not getting a second chance, he is still playing football at a good standard and making an amazing living doing it. He's not been banned from playing or jailed. This absolutely is a second chance and frankly it's more than I think he deserves.
'Lynch mobs' denotes a mentality. One that has applied over the years to the burning of witches, the hanging and burning of people because of their Race, or assumed guilt of a crime, because of their Religion, in more recent times the persecution of people because of their sexuality, it includes, all sorts of actions by mobs... all because of a personal hatred, loathing etc. most of which is drummed up by people who know nothing about whats a stake and care little for justice, either way.

I admit that I don't know anything about guilt or innocence of Greenwood, but neither does any one else.. it has never been put to the test, pictures/tapes etc released to the press could be real or not we will never know.
That is the whole point he is being judged in the court of public opinion and his career is at United is being threatened. For me the club has so far demonstrated 'feet of clay', which is probably in keeping with everything else that has been falling apart in recent years.

I'm no expert on frontal lobes -- and in fact now that I think about it I'm not an expert in anything -- but I do know that without any public expression of remorse and request for forgiveness that it would be very difficult for the club to accept him back. I haven't followed the situation closely enough to know whether MG has acknowledged his transgressions and expressed remorse.
It's because he's not been proved guilty in a court of law and so if I don't include 'alleged' it opens up the (very slim) possibility that the Caf gets in legal trouble. For what it's worth, it's my personal opinion that he is absolutely guilty.

Mason has never claimed they were not real and it stretches credibility to a ridiculous degree to suggest he would not have denied them if he could. The pictures and tapes are most certainly real, some context may be missing but frankly I cannot think of any context that would mitigate the acts that we have seen and heard.
