Gaming Marvel's Spider-Man (PS4)

I'm just past the bit where
all the supervillains have been released
and suddenly it's not so fun to swing about the City any more. :( I assume if I crack on with the main missions I can swing about and tidy up the rest after the main story is complete? I just got the cel shaded suit as well which looks better in the day. Bastards.
 
Finally finished it. Brilliant game, really enjoyed the story. Still got plenty of side-missions to do.

Only gripe was that the boss fights were a little repetitive.

I really enjoyed the game although the sneaking sections felt more of a hindrance than actually adding to the game by the latter stages.

I also felt a little bit let down by how easy the game was. I played on the hardest difficulty and aside from combat being frustrating in the first third of the game and one or two of the drone challenges being tricky to nail, I still managed to get the Platinum in around 24 hours total play time. Pretty disappointing, tbh. It just goes to further reinforce how The Witcher 3 truly deserves the plaudits it gets, imo.
 
Can somebody assist me, I might be really dumb here but I’m trying to take photos of the landmarks and I don’t know how. I get to the waypoints pull my camera out, point it at the landmark but it doesn’t give me the option to take a photo of it. I’ve tried up close and far away.

Are you holding L2 to aim/focus it? You should be getting a green ring around the image.

I laugh because my mate was doing exactly the same thing!

You have to get your camera out then hold down L2 and it should go green then
 
I finally platinumed the game; loved it!

I was going to wait for the DLC, but i'm probably going to sell it now and buy God Of War as i haven't played that yet.
 
Just completed it, going for 100% now. I very rarely go for full completion but swinging around town is fun and addictive.
I really liked the story, felt it had real heart.

I platinum'd it too, told my mates the last thing I was gonna do was pay my respects at Ben's grave.

Then proceeded to send them a screenshot of me at Ben's grave with the plat trophy notification. Trouble is I was so wrapped up in being proud of getting it I forgot Aunt May's grave is sitting right beside it :lol: none of them had got that far yet.

Why does it take so long for crimes to show up....so annoying it’s my last trophy to get them platinum but it takes a few minutes for a crime to show up.

Is there a way to speed it up as this will take ages at this rate. I’m sick of swinging around aimlessly for minutes at a time.

Fast travel to an area where you need a crime to pop up, usually comes up as soon as you arrive.

I did read up on that and have done it but it’s not made a difference. I’ve just timed my last one in an area that needs a few crimes still and it was a full 4 mins swinging about before one turned up. I also mashing R3 every swing hoping that makes s difference. I can do it but it’ll take me ages.
 
Finally got platinum, apparently 10% of people have as well. Is that typical? Didn't think that many people would put so much effort in.

That's quite high. As someone who likes to Platinum games, it's one of the highest i've seen especially when you consider it hasn't been out for that long. It's a very easy platinum, so that's why. Obviously the harder the plat, the less percentage.
 
Worth buying a PS4 for this (or in general at this point)? I literally have the bundle in my virtual basket right now... What other exclusives (already have a Switch and PC) would you suggest? I'll probably get Fifa too so I can fantasize about United winning the league.

Bloodborne, God of War, Uncharted 4 and Horizon: Zero Dawn are incredible.
 
Got platinum. Great game. I probably won’t get the DLC but I look forward to the New Game Plus mode being added.
 
Anyone know the cheapest it's at currently?

I want it but I don't want it so badly to part with £45-50.

I sold my Xbox one for a PS4 pro, I have no regrets man. I recommend it!
 
I never got round to Platinum. All I needed to do was ace the challenge token things and buy the suits, and maybe stop 10 more crimes around the map but I couldn't be arsed.

Torn between waiting for the DLC or trading it in to get money off when I buy RDR2.

On my playthrough when I completed the game I synced my trophies and I had about 85% done without even knowing, I saw what was left and decided to go for it. Don’t know how you can be so close and not go for it unless of course it really doesn’t bother you.
 
This is incredibly stupid, but I have one weak spot in the game that I can’t get past.

Whenever I have to save someone using the left analog stick, I can’t work out what to do. I’ve tried rolling it round, pressing L3 again and again and nothing seems to work for me. I’ve just done the mission that ends with you chasing that Helicopter as it crashes through the city, but when I get to the end I have to use the analog stick to stop the copter from hitting civilians and I can’t do it, I just don’t know how to. Incredibly frustrating - someone please tell me what I’m doing wrong!!

You have to move the icon, using the analog stick, into the centre of the circle and press R1.

The good news - that’s exactly the part I’m talking about, and I’m relieved that other people have been stuck there too.

The bad news - I still can’t do it. I’m hearing what he says, and reading the tips in the comments but it’s not working for me. He says to hold the left analogue stick in the direction the circle is to the line. Does that mean following the circle round, so going counter-clockwise on the left stick at the same speed the circle is moving?

That’s how I understand the descriptions of what to do, but it’s not working when I try it and it’s maddeningly frustrating!

No, the counter-clockwise movement of the circle is just a timer. Basically when that gets all the way around, you've missed your opportunity. You don't rotate the stick at all. Simply move the analog icon into that circle, and quickly press R1. No rotation or anything is needed. Just push the analog into the circle. It should snap in there then. Just press R1 at that point.

I'm running out of ways to explain it! :lol:

Wanted to wait and get the game with all the DLC’s when it eventually comes out, but I caved and got it today. It’s web slinging time :devil:
 
Finished this today, my God what an outstanding game. Not only was it tons of fun, but the storyline and especially all the characters were really well done. This was better written than any superhero movie I’ve ever watched. I’m sad that it’s come to an end.
