I'm sorry, I'm still totally pissed by this. Why the Captain, United players, and medical staff allowed this to happen? Wouldn't this potentially aggravating the injury, instead of using proper stretcher?

Why the feck our medical staff seemed confuse and like clueless morons, didn't know what to do AFTER Martinez was carried off to the sideline?

What's the thought or advantage for Martinez behind this?

Just looked like his World Cup Argentine mates helping him out.

Those medical stewards carrying the stretcher don’t work for free. Saved a few quid on the invoice by letting the Sevilla players do it free of charge.

Hargreaves is a moron - they were OBVIOUSLY carrying him off to get the game going again, the moment he crossed the white line they dumped him down. We were completely done today.

Glazers are cutting down on the costs , why pay for a stretcher just ask the opposition to take the player off ?

Jesus, they’re probably his best mates or something. Complete none story, if anything it shows comradely. Now stop this bollocks.

Back in my day he'd have rolled off and speared a few hogs for his family on the way out. I'm fuming.

Cool. Hope he’s not too injured so that the walking disaster Maguire doesn’t play much moving forward.

I thought that too. They were talking to him on the way off. It may have also been to speed it up but I don’t think Li would have agreed to it if he didn’t want to go. I thought it was a nice touch at the time.

Doesn’t happen on Fifa, therefore threadworthy.

I'm glad Maguire didn't carry him.

Here in Argentina everyone is talking that the national team is a big family, when it's obvious they wouldn't be carrying him if they were leading the score

I don't really care if they're his buddies. Its extremely disrespectful that you can't wait for your injured friend to be carted off, when your own player went down with fake injuries multiple times in that 2nd half.

Only way its ok is if Martinez, being the bad ass he is, said he didn't want a stretcher and they helped him walk off. But carrying him is weird too

Most probably the ref told the physio to take him off or call for the stretcher, so Martinez asked his mates to carry him off rather than leave on the stretcher. Life’s too short to be offended by everything.

Yes. It was so stupid our players just allowed this to happen. Just the way he fell off, Martinez could have a career threatening injury there, and they let players just carried off injured player like that?? This is not normal, and our on-field players and medical staff just standing there like clueless moron.

We've got done so many times because we lack in "in-game smartness". This was one of the most obvious case.

We don't really know how things were. I think Martinez knew it wasn't achilles or anything career ending and could be lifted by his teammates. Sevilla boys hurried themselves as they were with one more man.

If it were anyone but two NT mates I would be incensed, but it wasn't.

I think the fact that Martinez allowed it to happen is all that needs to be taken from this. He’s not exactly the type to allow himself to be manhandled, especially when he’s broke his foot.

There's definitely an element of the Sevilla players wanting to start the game faster with the extra man's advantage.....

BUT......

They're clearly NT mates......
You also need to consider Martinez's personality. For all the "shithousery" and winding up of opponents, he's clearly a pretty tough nut, so it's not in him to roll around like Spanish players just to gain an advantage..... he'd prefer to just get off the pitch and let the game continue.

I mean, talk about making a mountain out of an molehill.......

Don’t trust Sevilla players

As soon as they were off the pitch and the camera moved away, they threw him into a pile of starving children and then pissed on them all

Bit of a disgrace really when you think about it

Not really a good look for us. Martinez obviously knew it was bad, happy to be carried off by his friends but probably not thinking clearly at that moment.

Where was our Captain and leader during all this? Standing quietly by like he always does. Not a chance Keane would let have let that happen. I'm not sure Bruno would either.

  I can totally picture them doing it.

Gamesmanship. Reminds of the Mourinho sub vs Madrid after Nani was sent off. They knew we were down to 10 and wanted to get on with it.

If Martinez has a serious injury, there needs to be an inquest of why the hell the physios and the paramedics did not have him on the stretcher.

After everything that went wrong last night, this would be in the positive news category in comparison to everything else that went on.
