When we were signing him I was told, in this very forum, that he's not injury prone. What the hell people? I thought we're all football experts in here.
This just goes to show that we need at least another 2 CBs. Our recruitment over the last few years have been a shambles. When our 2 first choice CB are out we have championship standard defenders as cover. How is that aloud at a top team? Get rid of Maguire and lindelof and bring in another quality CB and surely we’ve got someone in the youth on the rise?
That would be kind of unlikely. I just thought you were exaggerating.
And considering how well the last summer transfer-window went, I am not concerned that we have a tendency to buy players that are past-it and injury prone. I guess we just had bad luck that this great player is no longer reliable.

I agree that we need new CB signings, but to say that about our current players reeks of grade school reactionism
They’re just not good defenders. Shouldn’t be playing at this level.
Maguire isn't, Lindelof is fully adequate as a squad player and replacement for Varane against the weaker teams with Martinez or Shaw alongside him.
I'd be very comfortable going into next season with Martinez, Varane, and Lindelof as long as the last CB isn't Maguire or Bailly. Maybe see if Jurrien Timber is available for a similar price as Martinez last summer.
And the handy thing about Timber is that he can serve as cover at RB if needed
He'd be a great player to have in the squad.
No way we pay that much for Timber after the horrible year he's having.
Even better then. Leaves more money for a striker and central midfielder.
