People aren't overreacting, they've a legitimate reason to be concerned. When posters were losing their minds over signing James, one could say that he was going to a squad player and that another right winger was coming in. Now, it looks like that's the only winger we will be getting. That's concerning. We are incredibly slow at identifying our problem areas and even slower at solving them.
I get that Ole, wants to bring in young, hungry players and I'm fine with that, but this guy has questionable desire and attitude. Even Southampton want rid. You honestly think that's this anything other than a massive gamble?
People can say that it's peanuts, and actually, I initially thought that, but we will undoubtedly hand him a 4+1 year contract worth £100k a week. He will take up another squad space and if he doesn't work out then we will be stuck with him for 5 years because no one will take him off us. We want to get rid of all deadwood, not potentially bringing it in from the get go. It's a big gamble.
