Marcus Rashford (out)

Playing devil's advocate I can see why Rashford lost his mojo. Or at least why he has lost faith in Utd. To set up Rashford to be successful he needs to be firstly on the left and secondly with a good lb behind him and a half decent successful team. We haven't given him any if this. Firstly because of Shaw. Then we played him striker and RW. And then we ask him to work hard and drop back which I get should be a minimum ask but some players are just not like that. Salah doesn't do it, Messi doesn't. Not saying he's at that level just saying he doesn't seem capable. Then as a youngster he probably had dreams of being in this great United side. Being up there with Giggs, Keane, Scholes. Lifting trophies etc. But its been one big fkd up sht show. It would be hard for anyone not to loose enthusiasm. You get a new manager and you think yes ok this it. Let's go. Then bam you're slapped on the face. Over and over again. It's hard as a supporter and yes he's being paid 300 grand and should have motivation but it would grind down anyone over 10 plus years of sht
You're right, it's never his fault

Son is still Spurs' best player, while Rashford has become a non-factor for us. I understand your concern, Son will turn 33 this summer, and it feels like we're heading down a familiar path. That said, I've always had a soft spot for him and would love to see him at United. Who do you think would make for a better swap deal?

Here are some off the top of my head:
Napoli: Victor Osimhen - Seems to be the best option, solves our strikers' issues. (High)
AC Milan: Rafael Leao - Dynamic winger who can fits in well in our midfield. (Medium)
Dortmund: Youssoufa Moukoko - Young exciting striker. (High)
PSG: Achraf Hakimi - Offers defensive stability and attacking width. (Low)
Arsenal: Gabriel Martinelli - Offers versatility and flair to our front line. (Low)
Spurs: Son is still Spurs' most standout player. Besides him who else? Solanke? Probably a decent option.

Maddison maybe?

Rashford and his agent are probably looking at night clubs before football clubs. Got to check out the night life first.

20 million for Rashford? Absolute madness. This is a player the club was valuing at 100+ million a year ago and despite poor form has been seen and valued as a very good player worldwide for a while with good marketability.

The same club who evaluated antony at 80 millions. He is not a very good player, and not many clubs outside of MLS and SA care about marketability that much. If his wages were more down to his level, a 50 million fee would not be outrageous. But with his wages? I doubt any club would want to spend north of 35 millions.

We had the same issue with Sancho, who is also younger.

He won’t be getting sold for 20m

Dortmund: Youssoufa Moukoko - Young exciting striker. (High)
That's a very weird one to name. Moukoko had a patch a couple years ago where one might have called him an exciting prospect, but he ultimately failed to actually make headway in Dortmund and this season is loaned out to Nice in order to get any playtime at all.

Sounds like you haven’t watched Spurs this season

There is no doubt that the whole status of the club had impacted him similar to how it impacted lots of the players who joined united recently. But he is also to blame. He isn’t just underperforming, he doesn’t seem to want to play football. Like you said, he grew up dreaming of playing for united, he should’ve given everything on the pitch. But he didn’t. Eventually, he became a bad influence at the club.

Based on actual performance value, Rashford is worth 20m at most. He's a player whose hype machine has created this fantasy of a world class footballer who really isn't. But of course the problem is his wages. No effing way should we consider subsidizing his wages and letting him play for another club. If we're going to pay his wages, he trains with us and contributes as a squad man for as long as his contract provides.

He is a risk for anyone, the wages and fee are further blockers. Agree he is deluded. This whole scenario will be humble pie and he will have to get his act together like Sancho has to an extent otherwise he will be yesterday's news.

Great. What's he saying?
It is very unlikely that Marcus Rashford (27/ ) will move to #BVB in this transfer window. As reported yesterday, the overall package (loan fee, especially salary, etc.) is too expensive. AC Milan is now pushing. #MUFC

Bor. Dortmund has considered a loan, but is looking for other options. Rashford is said to not have been coach Nuri Sahin's preferred solution either.

"We are well prepared," said Sahin today when asked by Sky. "But we will only do something if it makes us better."

I'm hoping people start to realise that Rashford (out) is really just another component of INEOS needing to unwind so much of the damage done by the previous executive, which has left us in a really bad financial position. Even worse, it's left us in a really bad financial position at the same time as - I think and hope - we might have finally found a Head Coach who can, given time, backing and opportunity, finally move us forward.

Bluntly, Marcus is a serial under-performer, who at the reported ~£300K pw, is a growing liability (his attitude and likely further decline just add to this). Casemiro and Antony are the other stand-out examples of damage done, where we need to repair what we can as soon as we can.

Bluntly, talk of him being anything like a £75-80m talent is plain ludicrous, particularly given his contract situation. A realistic current scenario is a January loan - and Dortmund might be a better bet than a Serie A team - that we'll need to subsidise, with a hopeful future scenario based on him discovering some sort of form and us being able to drive up a fee to £30-40m in the summer window.

Thank you. Seems like Milan is the most likely option at the moment then.

Sorry didn't realise, updated post as soon as I did.

Not often clubs have to loan out players on 325k a week. No wonder we’re finding his wages a sticking point.

Is there a point where a sale is so unlikely that you’re better letting him go for free? Do wages off the books help PSR?

Just don't play him. He either takes a pay cut to fulfil his ambition to push for the England squad or hel go Saudi for the money.

It is par for the team

Casemiro 350k
Bruno 300k
Rashford 300k
Mount 250k
Antony 200k

De Ligt 195k
Maguire 190k
Eriksen 150k
Shaw 150k
Not much value for money there. Why on earth we offered the likes of Eriksen or Antony so much money is beyond me. They’d have been on a fraction of that before they joined us.

Eriksen is paid above the odds because he was a free transfer.
Which is fine if you’re signing Rudiger or Mbappe, you expect a big signing on fee, wages etc to compensate for the lack of fee. But this was a player who nobody apart from Brentford was prepared to go near. I can’t imagine he was on anything higher than 50k at Brentford, would 75k not have done the trick?

This is like bleach in the eyes. I love Bruno and I can't believe that wage. The others. :o
