It’s not really more dramatic than him being left out of the team while sorting out his future. If he ends up staying, he’ll probably find himself in the matchday squad again fairly quickly.
They’d be more inclined to be skeptic based on his last few seasons rather than last month.

My guess is United will hold out for the best offer (loan with no obligation to buy), and then take the best they can get from the clubs he would willingly move to, which rules out Saudi.
If this runs for another 3 weeks which it likely will, it wouldn’t surprise me to see him get a few minutes otherwise his value drops as our public desperation gets worse.

Can’t really imagine any other outcome, it’s in the best interest of all parties involved to make sure it happens. It would be a huge surprise if he’s kept out of the squad for the remainder of the season.
There is evidence that he can be a good player so other clubs may back themselves to get him to form. They'd be wrong of course, he is finished as an elite player. He can chip in with a goal here and there but it's offset with all the drama and cost in wages/transfer fee.

Rashfords book value is 0, we never paid a transfer fee for him so it's impossible that he has any value on our balance sheet.

Agent fees, signing bonuses, loyalty bonuses, salary, image rights, all of this is tied into his contract and has no bearing on asset value, all commitments end if he moves on a permanent transfer.

Yeah wasn't aware of a distinction between the two. Bonus then. I'm 95% sure the agent fees are amortized over the length of the contract and thus form part of the book value, and I'd be surprised if signing bonuses were dealt with differently because it never makes sense to have them in the books in one lump sum if you can avoid it (would be otherwise in the year of the signing).

He will have to reach levels that he never reached before to be sold for over 60 millions with his wages and age. Even if he performs really well (which is doubtful) he may be sold around 40. But what if he performs the way he has performed on average the last 5 years? 10 million max.
Better to sell him now for 25 and he is not our problem anymore.
Been at the club 20 years, one of the highest goal scorers and appearances for the club. He will always have an association. Much like any ex player is associated with United after they leave.

There’s different types of agent fees, which may be treated differently from an accounting perspective I guess.
The majority are tied to player salary, generally charged (on top of the salary) at a rate of 10% or more, split between services for the player and services for the club. These will be treated the same way as player salary would be.
There is then the golden handshake type payments (a famous example being Raiola getting paid a wedge when we signed Pogba) but I believe these again only appear alongside transfer fees.
I can’t envisage any scenario where an academy player would have an asset value for PSR purposes, but I could obviously be wrong.

He’d probably need to score 30-40 goals between now and the end of the season for that to be likely. No club in its right mind is going to pay a huge transfer fee and his ridiculous wages unless he’s doing Ronaldo/Messi numbers.
Clubs will only pay his wage demands if the transfer fee is ridiculously small.
I doubt we’ll get any more than £20 million under any circumstance. Another shining example of the clubs reckless wages structure biting us in the bottom!
£25, not £25m. Not that I’d be happy taking £25m now though, some of the shite that’s gone for more than that in recent years purely because they’re English…a good loan spell and we should be able to get 40m. I’m talking double figures from now until may type of good though.

His wages are an issue. But we got 27m for greenwood when the entire world knew we had to sell as soon as possible. Rashford at his worst, with 10 goals and 5 assists per season has to be worth more than 25m in this day and age. If it’s clear he isn’t getting a sniff at United, surely he’s just going to have to suck it up and take a wage cut and move on? He isn’t going to want to just not play for 3 years.

Ok so the simple solution is to simply send him out on loan so he plays. You are ignoring the fact that Rashford not playing is a temporary problem not permanent. Rashford isn't injured. That's exactly why we shouldn't sell him right now. Loan him, let him play, raise his value and then sell him in the summer when there are more clubs in the market. Don't panic sell.
We want to buy in the summer. I have seen no credible reports of us trying to do any major deals in the winter. The only deal we seem to be doing is £3-4 Million for Leon so no we don't need to sell Rashford in this window.
You seem to want to Rashford to be sold for a low amount so that it validates your hatred of him. If we sell him for nothing you get to say 'See, I told you he sucks'. It's very odd. Giving Rashford away doesn't help the club.
It's not a physical issue. Apparently his performances in training in general haven't been great but he keeps going out on the town on the Friday before games and lying about it.
As per Laurie Whitwell, the reason he was dropped was that Amorim heard he'd been out the Friday before the Everton game and had a word with him. Like the Belfast incident Rashford denied it. Then a few weeks later he turned up to training before the City game looking fatigued and put in a poor performance. Again the word was he'd been out the night before so Amorim dropped him out of the squad altogether. He's obviously not cleaned up his act in the meantime as he's not played a minute of football since.
This is easily fixed if he had a mind to concentrate on his football.
