Been saying this all along. 3 months of good form doesn’t equate to a huge season. Said it at the time as well that it’s difficult to imagine he would maintain any consistency because inconsistency is the only consistent thing about him.

Redcafe might be just a forum but it represents a good majority of what the fans wants and the management reads and gauge on it. Which is why they seem to appoint whatever the fans wanted here. From ETH to Amorim was the household names around here.
I think the only outliers was Moyes and LVG.
If I recall correctly - despite no setting the world alight - he scored in Amorim’s first couple of games in charge, no? how/why did he fall so out of favour with Amorim - was it strictly the poor performances?

So... everyone that defends him and say there's a world class player there. How is it that no top team actually want him? Surely if he's as good as you defend him for, there would be a long line for him? And don't say wages... if he's as good as you say, surely wages shouldn't be an issue?

I am ok with him being pushed out when you consider the effort, application and standard of football he has given us for years now.
Honestly, I don’t think there is anything wrong with wanting his contract off the books and his influence out of the club. Most top clubs would have forced him out long ago on that salary.

If he cares at all about his stalled career then he'll surely take a wage cut of some sort to get regular football.

His performances under Amorim certainly weren’t poor enough to be banished. The suggestion seems to be its to do with off-field behaviour, which makes more sense.
Ego I think. Hard to imagine being on £100k per week and feeling poor for you and me, but I imagine in a dressing room where that's the baseline there is a lot of status attached to being the top dog.
Laurie Whitwell did an article on the Athletic, I don't have the subscription to it but he mentioned on the Talk of Devils podcast after the Liverpool game that it was mainly due to off the field issues, he referenced Rashford being out a day or two before the City game and then had trained poorly around it, apparently a conversation happened and presumably this is where the relationship has broken down. Not sure how true that account would be, but Laurie is normally one of the more reliable one's so there is probably something to it.
Bang on. It's a shame to live like that (in my poor man's opinion), when your skillset could have you earning a fortune playing all over the world. Look at Mata getting to live in Japan, or even fecking Andy Carrol rocking up in Bordeaux. What a wonderful way to be able to see the world, get filthy rich and play a game most of us pay £5 subs to slide around on shite waterlogged pitches all winter.

He's not going to turn his nose up at West Ham. Bowen plays for them and gets in the England team. No reason why Rashford can't do that.
Given he's played for England in several major tournaments it's not exactly delusional for him to aim for that as a realistic target.

It'd have toibe subsidised, then again no club will be paying close to his full wages I suspect, he just hasn't performed close to s 300k+ type player.
Our wage-turnover is very healthy, even without European football. In theory 150k would certainly be possible. I don't think any club in world football right now would go beyond that, its clearly a buyers market when it comes to Rashford.
The only thing I'd say about West Ham is look at Lingard. He rocked up, got stuck in and for those 6 months he looked like one of the best players in the league. In many ways, Rashford is in a very similar position to Lingard right now, similar time of his career as well I'd say.
Its a good move for Rashford in my opinion. PL means he's in the eyes of Tuchel all the time and that's what he wants.

Yeah, I think he’d definitely go to West Ham on loan for the rest of the season, especially with memories of how Lingard did there. You’d have thought he’ll see that as a way to show that he’s still a top player and get a better transfer in the summer.
I think poor performance(s) gets you benched but the lack of effort/application/not giving your all on the pitch/in training is what gets you completely dropped. It's inexcusable. I also think the laziness is detrimental/toxic to overall culture in the dressing room and that is something high on the list to eradicate.
This is all without even bringing his huge salary into the equation - which I am sure is a factor, but not the main factor behind it because if he was performing and applying himself, I doubt anyone would want rid.

If that was the case then he'd have found somewhere. But the whole reason for United loaning him out is to get a significant chunk of his wages off the book. Completely different situation to Dalot.

If football was my dream and I made it and at United, surely you know how hard it is. Footballers career is short, so when you play the game, you want to be at your best. The one thing I cannot forgive or understand from footballers is effort, you can have all the talent or none, you do not need any talent to work hard off the ball. He can go clubbing and partying after retiring.
For years we have seen him and Lingard not care about football, Rashford's career is heading the same way. Lingard had a choice of West Ham for a multiple year contract but low wage or 200k 1 year contract at Forest, he chose the money and is now in Japan.
