Marcus Rashford - Linked to PSG

Did you read some of those replies? agenda or what?
Yeah I don't get it. He's lost form, but not too old and can easily find it again. Stupid to sell when we need forward players

Please be true. He is only good enough as a option off the bench, and for that, we have the likes of Garnacho.

See you later Rashy. He’s finished here. Use the money to get Antony.

Because I think last season was an impossible situation. It was a toxic situation. The squad was horribly coached, horribly balanced, it spiralled, and just as Ralf started improving things and Rashford looked like he was about to get a glimpse of form back, Greenwood gets arrested and we are thrown back into turmoil. That does shit to a squad mentality. Ralf also had an interim title, which is very hard to fully invest in. Half the squad was leaving. They didn't give a feck, hard for the rest who are staying to perform normally. Once we lost to Atletico, the season was done for all. Rashford had a tough summer the year before, put off a surgery for playing in the euros, didn't end up playing at all apart from the penalty miss. He was mentally fecked after that too. And then had surgery to fix his injury. There were COUNTLESS reasons why last season went to shit. Yes, the players are also to blame. Yes, their mentality was shit. Yes the work rate was shit. Yes they gave up. But it's a 1 off season where everything snowballed and went wrong.

If you act based on last season, you have to sell literally everyone and buy an entire new squad. Because what you can say for Rashford applies to everyone. We have some very good players and some shit ones. I'd prioritize keeping those who have shown they can be among our best players. Especially if we have no cover for them. They get another chance based on situation, and because you can't sell them all off, and because of the hope they can get back to a form they showed before last season.
You skipped the part where he started the season with the same manager, in the same, but improved team, and played like shit for the first 3 months. You are trying to say things got worse and coming up with reasons for that, but his form and attitude was pretty much the same from Aug till May.

Some deluded Spurs fans thought the same about Alli.

He is busted flush. Cash in while he's still worth some millions.
I'm amazed Spurs still managed to get 40m for him. Fecking awesome business that.

Hope he leaves. Otherwise, we will offer him a new contract with a payrise and we will never be able to sell him, after years of underperforming. He started the season as the last one ended.

It’s always funny how many fans will ask for blind loyalty from players then in the next breath say the things they do about Rashford.

Selling Rashford in itself may not be a bad idea but the club has shown absolutely no ability to get players in that would/could be better. We’d sell him & fail to buy Shaqiri on the evidence of what our recruitment team have shown us.

A lot of it is to do with his work with underprivileged kids which to me is fecking insane. Many wont admit it.
Definitely been used as a stick to beat him with recently since he's hit a rough patch on the pitch sadly.

We always clamor and love the idea of academy products in the team but they always end up on the receiving end of some of the worst venom aimed at our players

He certainly holds all the cards when it comes to leaving us on a free transfer, even if we receive a good offer next summer he can easily reject the move
We're certainly seeing playing taking a new strategy of running down their contacts so that the money that would have gone to a transfer fee instead goes into their contract. Players used to prefer the security of having years on their contacts, but then medical science keeps improving, the fear of having your career end by injury being less may be part of this tactic.

If he wants to do that there's certainly nothing we can do to stop him, but that's true of any player, and happens to all kinds of clubs. I'm not worried about losing Rashford, at this point getting his wages off the books means we can bring in a new 200,000 a week player, which is likely to improve us.

Hopefully true, but i have a feeling they just want him to run down his contract and get him for free

Because Rashford has beel loyal to the club? When was his loyalty ever tested? The reports are saying that his representatives are in communication with PSG. I m sure he is aware that they are doing this.

Twitter poll with over 45,000 votes, has 80% sell. Arnold claims to follow social media analytics, but seems to miss the most obvious trends and messages. I’ve never understood the claim that Rashford’s brand is too strong; if anything his brand has declined and just represents what’s wrong with this squad. As stupid as Arnold and Murtog are, the Glazer-scum are dumber because they still hire these clowns to mismanage their investment.

He actually had surgery in August and missed the first 2 months of the season. When he came back to fitness, we were already in full blown disaster mode. Scored in his first 2 games back against Leicester and Atalanta. Then we lost 5-0 to Liverpool in his next game. Then he scored vs Spurs in the 3-0 win. He's the last person to blame for Oles time last season's simply because he wasn't even fit for it and actually did well in the few games he was fit for.

The fundamental question we and United have to ask: do we think Rashford (a) has peaked already and (b) if so, can he get back to that peak?

Why sign for PSG in this window when he can sign an agreement with them in the January window? He might be leaving us but it will be in a free transfer. Wake up people. He holds all the cards now.

For those saying he’s had a temporary loss of form - temporary does not mean 2 years.
Snap PSGs hand off.

We need a completely new start. If clubs are willing to pay us for some of the old guard, fantastic. It's definitely the best situation for all parties.

Have you bothered to read any of the thread? The club have the option of an additional year. Wake up Elcabron.

I mean, in an ideal world where we take 60m and invest it in a couple of up-and-coming bright talents, sure.

In reality, we'd likely see Elanga playing a lot more and some over the hill journeyman coming in at the last minute to 'do a job'. Would be a bad idea to get rid I think.

We have a +1 option om his deal, no such thing can happen this Jan.

They will be waiting a while, we have a +1 option we can trigger on the deal.

Honestly wouldn't even be surprised if this was leaked/created by his PR team to get united to sign him up for the further year.

Would Elanga and a journeyman + £60m ready to be invested be worse than an 18 month out of form Rashford who's head has gone? We also have the likes of Garnacho waiting in the wings. Sell him now, Murtough.

It’s a rare occurrence that a good club comes calling for one of our overpaid underperformers. We need to get maximum possible bid and accept it

One can only hope this rumour be true. Exhausted of seeing this guy huffing and puffing and strolling about after another failed whatever. Loads of early promise but literally the most stagnated player I’ve seen in ages. Fresh start may do him good.

Antony can properly play on the right unlike Rashford, but that's about it. I've seen him play a lot and I like him, but he's not an upgrade on Rashford in terms of potential or talent. Fee Ajax are asking for him is absolutely bonkers, so I don't understand why people suggest him as a replacement. It would just be another bad or sideways move in terms of the overal quality he would add to the squad.

We need a truly unique specimen in the Rooney/Ronaldo calibre range to replace Rashford if we want to actually improve as a club. Problem being that by the time a talent like that actually comes on the market, we might be in such a shite state as a club we can't even sign them up.

I'm sorry but Jarred Bowen and Saint Maximin are two players in the PL alone that would be an improvement. Rashford has offered the square root of feck all for too long. And not only that, his attitude stinks, his PR team is a joke and he started on supporters outside the ground last season. The guy should be getting torn apart by the club yet he appears to get away time and time again.

We're already short on attacking options as it is. The only way we'd sell Rashford is if PSG came in with a stupid offer for him.

And even with an extra £70-80m generated from his sake, I've no faith in our recruitment structure to bring in two players as replacements before the end of the transfer window.

Very sceptical of this news, don't believe it for a minute.

However in an ideal world, even on a free I would want him gone. Free's up 200k a week and begins the reset of getting rid of mediocre massively overpaid players.

The United way though means we renew him on 350k a week and he serves up many more years of dismal performances.

Take the money and run!

Though knowing how inept our board are, they'll try and placate the matter by giving him a £400k 5 year contract.

In the immediate future, I'd say yes they would be. Plus I don't trust that 60m to necessarily be sitting there ready to be invested either. Look how little of the huge wages we've shed over the summer have been reinvested thus far for example.

Garnacho also looks promising out wide, but not ready to play anything more than a supporting role this year. Imagine Sancho gets injured and suddenly we're playing:

Garnacho - Ronaldo - Elanga

Or something along those lines. We'd be lucky to scrape top half with that front 3.
