Marcus Rashford confidant thinks some critics are "bullying" him.

Thought he was a bit unfortunate against Leicester. There were multiple times where he made a good run and the pass was on to set him away, only for it to be a poor pass that was cut out or which forced Rashford to check his run and come backwards to get the ball.

Obviously wasn't a great game, but if those passes to him had been better he'd have been in dangerous positions quite a few times and could easily have got a goal/assist or two.

I don't know why he hasn't yet reinvented himself (already at 27 I might add!) as a Ronaldo-esque goal poacher no.9. Because he is awful on the left-wing.

He was absolutely dire via Leicester. His application, enthusiasm, spirit and drive completely gone. No longer deserves to start games. In fact, no longer deserves to be in the squad because he doesn't contribute and doesn't appear to have any willingness to do so.

Some critics, not just those within MSM, probably are targeting him. This could be because he's a young, successful black lad from a working background who didn't show the correct fealty to 'Boris'.

I've noticed a whole host of 'sell Rashford' posts in the Amorim thread and it seems quite a few, not all, posters making those noises are on the political right.

Personally reckon he's been handled poorly. Over-indulged, certainly with respect to wages and coached badly.

There's talent and willpower there somewhere, so I reckon we should ignore the noise and see what Amorim can do.

Especially considering how he'll be nigh-on impossible to shift.

Indeed, because being from a working class background is unusual for a footballer and the only reason people are pointing at the difference in quality between himself and Amad is because of racism.

It's also misandry because of his sex. He's targeted for being male. Something also quite unique in the men's game. And you're right, being young is also a factor. A mere 27, in a game where most players don't hit their peak until they're 56.

Unfortunate, is a very bad excuse. We played well that day except Dalot was day dreaming at the back, as usual; while Rashford was whitewalker in front. It was probably his worst performance this season, if not his career. Every touch, every pass, every run, was ill-timed. Even a school boy can get better teamwork with his mates.

Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

Probably a bit out of topic but I love how the name 'Rashbonlahor' was seen as an insult but then Agbonlahor actually started appearing on TV and people watched and listened to him. Idiots.

Because he has always been better out wide than as a number 9. If the new management can get him firing as a number 9 they're doing very good work.

How did you come to this conclusion? What is your conclusion based on?

He disagrees, so that makes them fascist. I'm always taken by those in the crowd that groan when we waste another corner are all complicit in child labour exploitation

One thing for sure is that the CAF is a mostly left-leaning forum, the notion that a lot of the critics are on the politcial right is complete nonsense!

This is really interesting, would love if you could come with examples?

He's just shite mate, whatever agenda you are trying to promote is just that, an agenda, because people can see clear as day that he just isn't good enough to play at this level and his attitude is even worse than his play.

I haven't seen a forum so much left-leaning as Caf...

Dude, all we want is United players to perform on the pitch like United players should. Effort and right attitude is a bare minimum.

The difference between a classy player and Rashford is, a classy player has rather consistent performance in (almost) all seasons. I never thought that Rash is a world class player or so, of course he isn't. But he should have been better, he had like 2 real good seasons and he is already 27. Disciplinary issues, lack of motivation, problems after problems and what's his reaction? He is acting like a spoilt brat. Awful, he should be sold ASAP, which would be very difficult as no one needs a lazy, mediocre winger especially for the money INEOS is hoping to sell him for. His Transfermarkt value is still quite high, but that has nothing to do with her performance, it rather shows his popularity on the internet, the number of followers and so on. His real value should be about 10 million euros, based on his performance. Or less than that.

It's a sad indictment of modern football/society that a player can't have a bad day at the office, he has to be an overpaid mercenary.

If a player isn't laughing and smiling, he's miserable and doesn't care. If a player is laughing and smiling, he's not focusing enough on his football.

If a player is on 350,000 a week and not doing anything with his money other than buying fancy cars and houses, he's the epitome of a self obsessed modern society. If he's campaigning for kids to have food, he's a PR merchant who should stick to football.

With Rashford, there's every he's is a good footballer who either has or had the potential to be world class but due to an appalling level of management and lack of structure has yet to reach that. Maybe it would be best to go our separate ways.

Maybe, the manager sees potential in him and believes he could be a key player in a squad for the next 3/4 years that will challenge again. Maybe he's gonna end up being turned into the world's greatest left wing back. Who knows

Stop with the hyperbole every time certain players don't play well.

Just look at Garnacho. A couple of performances where it didn't work out for him and there's people on here calling him shite. Labelling him as greedy, lazy etc.

Well, it was a well-oiled PR machine and he wasn’t doing any such campaigning.

It was a match made in heaven at the time and worked for all parties.

Well oiled. A young man with influence to help kids when the government is trying to feck over the average person isnt "well oiled." That's a very harsh and mean spirited way to look at it.

I'm a Nigerian living in Nigeria so I don't have any side in UK politics plus as black man who loves seeing people who look like myself excel in any work of life. Rashford hasn't been great for a while now and has never been consistent over multiple seasons.
The biggest issue is simply effort. Bruno for example plays crap sometimes but you can never fault his effort. Rashford attitude is atimes as bad as Sancho's.

Because if it was that easy every tom, dick and harry would do it

To become like Ronaldo, sure. But adapting your game or expanding your repertoire on the field, if you excuse the expression, is something you'd generally expect to come with experience and maturity. Not sure anyone could point to any element of his game that's he's better at now than he was six years ago
