We'll be much better off with him and Sancho on the bench and then sold in the summer hopefully.

Awful striker, not much has changed really.

His player of the month award was also a joke. Two rotten performances as a No.9 against Liverpool and Arsenal but got moved out wide and had some joy when the game stretched.

The ball does not stick with him and he's terrible at linking the play. Left wing or on the bench.

Ronaldo and Martial should be strikers ahead of him.

Playing Rashford is suicidal to a team trying to build attacking transition and creativity.

His general game isn’t up to standard, and is only suited in a counter attacking system with balls over the top.

Lets hope ETH takes a lot of learnings today, including Bruno

He looks like he gave up when he knew he was up against pacy CBs. A poor attitude, and he let everyone else do the pressing.

Not good enough for the CF role, with Martial back we can push him back wide.

LW with that workrate of his ... We are doomed

This thread confuses the piss out of me sometimes because that's the same kind of performance that often gets praised minus the breakaway goal or moment of production.

Indeed, people just can’t look past G/A

He was terrible again today but in his defence he’s never a centre forward.

The successful public facade of 'home grown lad, loves the club, bleeds red' when for the longest time he's had the workrate and application of the worst kind of 'lazy overseas player who regrets signing and wants out of the club ASAP and wears gloves when it falls below 14 degrees' is the most impressive public relations achievements that can be attributed to any professional athlete in the last 10 years.

Probably sloppier due to missing time and just coming back but same problem were still with him and become accentuated or obvious when he doesn't score to take the focus away from his generally sloppy play.

Hopefully he's back on the wing so he doesn't have to lose literally almost every pass to him when he's got a bit of pressure on his back. He needs space and he isn't get much as a CF.

His strength has been on the counter and he'd still be deadly if not deadlier from the left. In fact his goals against Arsenal and Liverpool have come with him coming from the left side.

Centre forward or not, his lack of fight can never be excused. He just does not seem interested in being a footballer anymore. He was never the most skillful but at least he had the desire. Now he seems to have lost the fire which made him stand out. To make matters worse, the way he strolls makes everyone mad.

Awful player.

I hope those who were crowing over his average performances last month will introspect as to how poor he is.

Once more.

Sell him.
you mean where he scored 2 one on one's which most strikers would score. Agreed, he's absolute garbage. Shouldn't be anywhere near the starting line for us. We've learned nothing over the last 9 years.

And Martial has done what exactly over the last 8 years?

He did what he always does, the difference is he didn't score on the counter. He's an average footballer with a burst of pace (not as quick as he used to be mind), his decision making is poor, his first touch is awful and overall his football IQ is woeful. If he didn't have pace he'd never have made it here and would probably be fighting for a start at Everton. If Marital is fit, Rashford is on the bench because there's no way he should start over Sancho or Antony.

What the feck is going on with his first touch?
This is a good question. I mean before he had a shit first touch when the ball was fizzled into him and wasn't technical enough to handle those sort of passes but now he's miscontrolling even passes with hardly any pace on them. What's up with that?

So true. But now they are amazed.

We will never win anything with him starting most of the games. Would rather have the likes of Harvey Barnes or Dwight McNeil here than this lazy feck. Need to upgrade on him and push him out of the team asap.

Exactly this.
He’ll be playing between just about acceptable and dire, then breaks away for a goal and the Caf are hailing him as a hero, shouting “Rashford’s back” and dissing the critics.

He’s awful and we’re going nowhere with a player like that in the squad.
Piss poor at everything, apart from his trademark, breakaway run and goal……..which we don’t see much of anymore.

When Ederson missed a backpass, skied it in the air and he was the nearest player to the ball and just stood and looked at it and didn't even jump and challenge for the ball totally summed up his commitment for me. Just can't be arsed.

Drove me more mad in the first half than the goals we conceded. The amount of times Ake just sauntered past him towards the half way line with zero pressure applied to him was criminal.

Why English expert like Garry Neville and media believe his best position is 9?

Sell as soon as is possible. As much of an anchor round our neck as Ronaldo.
Hopefully Ten Hag is realising it.

We played with 10 men in the first half. Zero attempt to press. It's disgraceful.

It's becypur standards for players in that position is so low.

A few counter attacking goals isn’t sustainable really to be first choice centre forward. He’s got his attributes but really if we want to have a solid attack to build around then he cannot play as the front man.

Old Boys Network. If all he did was shit on the grass the most you'd get is 'I'm not saying Rashford had covered himself in glory, but you've got to ask questions of the grass there'

Agreed, its like playing with 10 men. Just before he got brought off he just stood there and allowed a City defender to play a headed pass under 0 pressure when the ball was in the air for ages in their box...sums up his effort levels.
That was a really easy opportunity to at least just scare City a bit if nothing else. All he has to do is get his body across the City player and anything can happen. He just stood there watching like the ball going to the City player was gods will.

If the ball is in the air forget about Rashford challenging for it.

It was shocking how many times Ake broke with the ball with barely any challenge from Rashford.
More amazed how Foden and Haaland found acres of space between our defenders with barely a challenge, as that's the reason we lost the game. Rashford is always prone to being over the left hand side of attack, hardly a surprise the right centre back is getting time away form him, other players on the pitch should be dealing with Ake. I'm amazed some people on this thread aren't trying to pin the defeat on Maguire as the anti English agenda is very odd.

The defence being poor doesn't change the fact Rashford was useless today. He did nothing today.

Better late than never for the 'I can't understand why people are talking about his performance in his performance thread' post

Sad thing is there used to be about 12 of these, now just one

Weak as piss and lazy, same as Sancho. If he doesn't have space in behind to run into he's essentially useless, and a liability.

He’s dogshit. Think we’ll see him on the bench with Martial back.

Akanji too was going through him with ease, he's 25 and plays with less intensity than a 38-year-old Ronaldo.
