I didn't see anything major in that. Was there even a contact. Feck it, just entering into our crucial part of the season.

Not great comments on the injury from EtH

Said he asked him if it was serious on the night and he told him he didn’t know.

Will be assessed this afternoon apparently but EtH is unsure about the final.
Shit. Real shit. Hope he's ok or we're pretty fecked.

We should have enough with the rest of the team to beat Newcastle. We definitely need him back before long for the matches to come in the league and such though.

Following the result last night, I'm not as worried if Rashford is indeed injured.

The spine of the team (Varane and Licha at the back, with Case and Bruno ahead) should hopefully be strong enough. Won't be easy without Rashy of course!

If he’s getting assessed today then we probably won’t know until tomorrow when the team departs for Wembley if he’ll be playing or not.

I’m sure, well hopeful, he’ll be okay. Can see Ten Hag has already begun the mind games

Not worried tbh, I feel like with Antony, Bruno, Casemiro, Martinez, Shaw we have enough creators. He's been on hot form and is our most likely player to score but we rely less on him than some think, others will step up.

Agree, last night showed we can win games without his goals.

Imo even if he's injured it's not serious. Which is already a blessing for the season.

Let's hope he'd be fine for the final. Then he would get his well deserved rest in the FA cup I think.

We will dominate the shit out of Newcastle so we will be fine for that game with the fire power we have. For the next games Rashford better be fit. He is an absolute killer this season.

He should be rested if he's not fully fit. We played him half injured under Ole and it took him a long time to recover from it.

If Rashford is out then the rest of the attack needs to step up to the plate.

I'd be very surprised if he doesn't play. Eriksen left OT the night he was badly injured with a protective boot on and crutches but Rashford didn't need any of that last night

I don't doubt hes knackered and a bit banged up but we've seen in the past he's played through the pain barrier and I think he'll be happy to do it for the final. Now after that he may be out of the side for a while but that's ok. Just need him for the final.

He might not be badly injured but the short turnaround still might mean he misses this game.

Smokescreen.

We're starting Sancho Weghorst and Antony.

Rashford and Garnacho come off the bench and win it.

Which has looked more likely in recent weeks. If he’s not fit enough to start Rashford could be an awesome weapon against a tiring defence.
Agree on both counts. Just a bit concerned about having to rely on Weghorst for more than 45 minutes, a prospect which frightens me.

The team should be plenty good enough without him. If you're shitting it because one player's out then you're a shit team.

I do think with Casemiro Varane and Martinez all playing on sunday we really should win.

Ton of character and experience there, especially with Varane and Casemiro.

We'll be playing with 10 men with Weghorst putting in another disastrous impression of a footballer.

This injury is a real worry. It's typical of our luck and Rashford's luck. When he was having good seasons in 19/20 and 20/21 they got derailed by injuries and carrying knocks causing drops in performance.

I hope southgate doesn't pick rashford for the international duties but knowing his incompetence he will play him in menaingless friendlies.

Every team will miss their best player. Even Utd in their heyday suffered when Rooney got injured in the 2009-10 season. I’m 100% certain Utd would have won the CL that season had it not been for his injury. (Lost to Bayen in the Quarter finals).

One game for certain he will be rested for will be the WestHam Fa Cup tie.

Should start on the bench if he passes fitness test. It looked like it may have been a groin strain or something when he went down, but not sure if any news has come out. We don't need him aggravating it unless absolutely necessary, especially with little recovery time between games at the minute.

United fans are crazy arrogant in predicting they'd have won the CL in years they couldnt even make it to a semi final. Losses to Porto 2004, Bayern 2010 and Madrid 2013 are all talked about on here as if our name was on the trophy  I remember people talking about if we'd have made it out the group stage in 2012 we'd have won it :wenger:

I mean, 100% certain we'd have breezed past the treble winning Inter team?

I've never heard anyone claim we'd have won it in 2012. Or even 2013 (when we had been a moments team all season) . In 2012 though we were genuinely a very good team with our main striker having an absolutely insane season. And Bayern were arguably the best team left in the competition. And we had thrashed them 3-0 in the first half at OT. Its reasonable to think we could have won it all that year.

Anyone else starting to wonder if through the middle might actually be becoming his best position now? It seems he's getting in to the game more from there now and is freed up from having to do so much defensive work. You also need your best attacking player getting near to goal consistently.

I personally still prefer him on the left. However, I do believe it depends on the type of game, which will determine where Rashford plays.

We should still beat Newcastle even without Rashford.

Maybe, but this is a Newcastle side that don't concede much, and other than Rashford, we have no other consistent goalscorers. In the league, the closest person to Rashford is Bruno with 5 , followed by Sancho with 4, who has been out for months.

Obviously, players would need to step up if he was out, but it's certainly something that needs to be addressed in the summer. We need another goalscorer.

He's injured because we play Liverpool next in the league, they can't face teams with their best players ya see

You don’t really talk like a United fan
