As always Stats don't tell the full story, just giving some basic stats and how Redcafe rated them for the matches played.

@Mods/Admins (@KM @Damien) Can you please add poll with all the players played?

p.s: Let me know if there are any mistakes.

Has to be Lingard. It's been his month hasn't it? Not ours, though, sadly.

1. Lingard
2. Mata
3. Dave/Shaw

De Gea is MotM in 3 games out of 9! First thought was of Lingard, but it's hard to argue against Dave. On the fence here

Yeah, think Lingard is the clear winner. Shame it wasn't a good month for the team, especially the last 3 games.

Lingard for sure. And they say Jose doesn't improve players. There is only so much a coach can do if you as a player don't put the work in.

How redcafe votes isn’t really that good of an indication is it?
We had some bad results in December and I’m sure a lot of people voted emotionally, or didn’t vote at all.

Either way, has to be Lingard.

My main man the stats man @roonster09, was getting worried when I didn't see this thread these past few days

Anyways, two things the stats show us is that mata really stepped it up this month with those chances and we were fecking wasteful this past month

Also, herrera's defensive contributions are beastly as usual compared to his minutes

:D

Too many games in December to update.

Interesting: Lukaku has as many inclusions in the top-5 as Lingard (4). If it wasn't for his defensive mistakes against City and Burnley, plus had he converted his chance against City or Burnley, he'd be a real candidate for Player of the Month.

He's done a lot better in December than he's given credit for ... mostly because of the defensive mistakes and missing his clear chances. :/

DDG was key but has to Lingard. It has been great watching him come into his own and exceed expectations. We needed him to step up with Mikhi being out of form and he stepped up. Too bad it has not translated into results for us though. Also, happy to see Shaw playing consistently and performing well.

Lets not forget his team mates fecking up vs Leicester...

Weird seeing De Gea that high up since I think he has looked terrible with his standards in the last few games. Since the Arsenal game he has dropped off a lot like the rest of the team. Lingard a clear winner. I think Mata and Lukaku have done well most of the time too.

Yeah the votes are often crap. In a 0-0 draw against Southampton De Gea gets it even if I thought he was poor in that one.

It has to be Lingard. His break out performance finally.
We all endured so much and doubted he could ever make an impact on the pitch (not in dressing room), but I think he'll kick on his career from here.
Him and Martial are best attacking quality atm.

Amazing turnaround for Lingard. It wasn't that many weeks ago that the caf would collectively facepalm when his name was mentioned.

It's amazing what a player can do when he decides to run rather than walk around the field. Off the ball running isn't a crime.

Rest of the team plz take note.

Has to be Lingard. Was a terrible month for most of the team except him and Mata.

It's either Lingard or Mkhitaryan for me.

The obvious choice is Lingard who has got us some goals and proved he could well be a force to be reckoned with. Would also bring Mata into the reckoning. He's put some good performances in when I was beginning to think he was past his "sell by date". A great servant for the club who is obviously still an important part of our squad. It's close but I'd give it to the little Spaniard.

fecks sake. Clicked Lindeloff by accident when I meant Lingard. Can I change it?

Gotta be Lingard. Not sure why De Gea is getting votes. Don't get me wrong. I love the guy. But he was awful against Leicester and Burnley. In the Leicester game he allowed the winner from 4 yards out on a cross that was sent in from 35 yards out that floated through the air. That should have easily been his ball, not Maguires. And against Burnley he only had 2 shots on target and they both went in, as well as only one other attempt at goal that also beat him but hit the cross bar. Not saying he should have saved any of those, but I have very high expectations of him, and expect his A game every day and if he doesn't give his A game and make the saves that make us say "wow" (like the Arsenal game) then I don't think he deserves to be in the running for POTM...

Lingard

I know it's based over the month but it's hard not to be influenced by the 2 away games against Watford and Everton far as Lingard is concerned. He has been unbelievable. He has 10 goals for the season, second behind only Lukaku with 15 and ahead of Tony and Rash on 9 each. Gotta tip your hat to the lad.

Did I correct you on this before? We drew 2-2, buddy.

If not you, another made the exact same erroneous claim. I know it may feel like a loss but it's not!
