Blackett has just had a much better footballing education than Jones or Smalling coming through the United academy. Our academy defenders are certainly taught how to play out from the back even if our first team haven't always done it. Smalling and Jones take too many touches and play it sideways too often. It's no coincidence that Evans, Blackett and Keane are all comfortable on the ball.
