Tyler Blackett has always been composed on the ball.Birmingham's fan think he was a donkey but forgot it's the same for their whole defensive line which is a total mess.Thorpe was struggled there as well.
With Valencia in the 3-5-2 as a wing back, I think he does well defensively. But his attacking has gone to shambles. He cannot cross the ball. He just bangs it over and over and over into the defender in front of him. Not sure where he went wrong but I hope LVG can get him back into form because this setup suits his attributes (or at least the ones he used to show).

Can't remember his exact words, but they was talking about Rooney being happy and Paddy said that Rooney has mentioned a player who we was supposedly signing. Then paddy started laughing and said he wasn't going to say which player it was.
If we just add Strootman, we will be world beaters IMO.

He can cross, that's good for a start. Plus he has a left leg, so it's a big adventage for him.

I never imagined that a coach could have such an effect on a team, such a short space of time and what a difference. I guess the players have always had the potential, but it's still an amazing sight to see us already so fluent.
In a few months when we become even better in this system and philosophy I think we can do some damage this season. As for defenders, maybe LvG is right, maybe he doesn't need any, I'd still like to see a midfielder though.

Think we need a top CB and a RWB, as well as a Strootman type CM
We definitely have a few to get rid of. Especially since we wont be in Europe next season. I guess we will throw it all at the FA cup and use League Cup as games for second string. Will be an interesting season for us.

I have to disagree. Most of their squad were starting 11 players last year. They brought on Ronaldo towards the end of the game when they had already adamantly said he wasn't going to play today. Why would they risk further injury to their top player if they weren't trying hard.
Agreed. If that pass to Chich for the goal was from Pirlo, the world soccer press would be highlighting how amazing of a play maker he is. Incredible stuff.

Marketing reasons, you saw the crowd's reaction when he came on and the played in front of over 100.000 people. Also, just because they played their starters doesn't mean their starters played at their best and gave it their all, which they didn't.
I think with our defenders injury records, we REQUIRE a few additional bodies able to fill in...
