Manchester United vs Liverpool

That will definitely be the case, Sturridge has been sent home and others won't feature either. Of our back 4 that started against Milan I don't see any of them playing in the first league game.
United have been playing very strong starting teams though, with the majority changing at half time. Would be embarrassing if we play a strong team vs a weakened LFC team and lose

Yep. And likewise for us RVP and Januzaj aren't here, and any number of our stronger players might not feature much having played at least full hour against Madrid. Fletcher probably won't appear at all, having played the full 90. De Gea and Jones might not either.

But I expect regardless of weakened squads the caf will still get all hysterical one way or the other after the game.

Hopefully both sides don't play their strongest teams and therefore the winner has no right to relate it to the upcoming season. Also, it'll obviously reduce the risk of main players getting injured.

I can see this getting bad - both during the match and the aftermath  it's just a friendly!

You definitely won't see our best eleven. Lallana, Sturridge, Lovren and Manquillo and Moreno (haven't signed yet, but that should just be a formality) all won't take part. Possibly Markovic won't either. Same with you lot, two of your strikers missing along with Carrick.

Wouldn't be surprised if fletcher didn't play at all either, considering he played the full 90 vs madrid. Most other starters I'd guess will only play a half so they don't risk injury. Kind of stupid to make it just 2 days after the last game.

For all those asking about the game showing live:-
This may be a bit fiddly for some, but if anyone has a FTA satellite receiver and a spare dish you can point it at 19.2E and get the full match on a prog called Servus TV HD by pulling in the prog using info taken from liveonsat.com.

I want to win but everybody keeping fit is the priority, we don't want to be picking up injuries this close the the PL kick off. I actually can't wait until they are back home this American tour seems to have been going on for months.

:) I bet it goes to penalties.

"It's only a friendly".

"Look at those sad bastards celebrating like they've just completed a quadrouple".

The losers.

Highly doubt we'll see Fletcher in this one. He's completed 90 minutes three times already this tour and I don't think any other player has even done this twice.

He's played very well. Looks sharp again.

I wouldn't have thought we'll risk any injury concerns either - Smalling and Welbeck.

Out of interest, @BarneyLFC , @johnny boy et al, what lineup do you predict Liverpool starting given your absentees?

No idea. I'd be hoping for: Mignolet, Johnson, Skrtel, Sakho, Enrique, Gerrard, Henderson, Can, Sterling, Lambert and Coutinho. Suso, Ibe and Allen to hopefully get quite a bit of time too.

Apparently, simply making the final means at least £2m in prize money.

Don't like that at all. We're there for a kickabout to get some match fitness, try some drills, have a look at the new boys and give all the lads a chance to play in the red shirt. And the prize money for that is more than both the fa and league cup.

Don't blame the clubs for taking it, but fecks sake.

I want to see Suso, Ibe and Can strut their stuff. Not too bothered with whatever else.

You know you don't have to sign up to read on this forum? I've been reading on here for years but never signed up. So yes, I hope this clears that up for you!

Right, mate.

What was your previous nick?

Brenton trying to start s-t

Really hope Kagawa gets a run out for an injured Welbeck rather than Zaha or Chicharito. Rooney, Kagawa, Mata, Herrera

----------------- De Gea
----------Evans - Jones - Smalling
Valencia-----Fletcher - Herrera-----Young
--------------Mata - Kagawa
----------------Chicharito

5221 in defence. 3421 in attack.

Considering the price of the tickets, the amount of tickets sold and the TV deals etc, it isn't surprising that the prize money is so much!

Isn't it time Shaw got a start?

--------------De Gea
Valencia Jones Evans Smalling Shaw
--------Fletcher---Herrera
--------------Mata
---------Rooney--Welbeck

2-1 or something.

Fletch played the full 90 against Madrid, Expect Cleverley to be in there.

There is a doubt over Welbeck.. It would be hard to drop young, if Shaw comes in then play him RWB

Kagawa and Hernandez could be given a start..

No Sturridge for the Pool, we control Sterlings runs we eliminate alot of the scouses fire power

So probably:
De Gea
Keane Jones Evans
Young Herrera Cleverley Shaw
Mata
Rooney Hernandez

Valencia has started all of the games I think, so I'm guessing he'll give Shaw a start and move Young to the right. Fletcher played 90 minutes so I can't see him starting again. Hopefully Hernandez starts too, think he'd suit the 2 around him really well.
