There’s a difference in meritocracy and a young player having to prove themselves. One game doesn’t do that.

I quite like the idea of Case as the base/single pivot, with Bruno and Mount in front. In my head, it seems like a terrific idea. Gets both players on the ball, gives us more mobility in midfield and should mean that we can get forward quicker to start attacks.

I think that only works if the player playing the single pivot (Casemiro) has the legs to do it, the stamina to keep it up, and the centre backs/full backs/defence around and behind him to cover. Mount seems mobile enough to be useful in this system.
