Manchester United vs. Chelsea

Why the feck are you lot so nervous? It's a big game, that's what you are supposed to love about football. I don't get the whole 'Chelsea are so, so much better than us' vibe.

No one saying they're better but you're not human if you're not nervous right now.

Anyone thats not even a bit nervous today has something wrong with them. Its a big game, a lot depends on it & it can go either way, nothing wrong with being nervous at all. Its all part & parcel of being a fan.

We get this every match.

A) Why on Earth would you get nervous about it?
B) Why do you think that being nervous or not helps matters?

It's totally out of your hands, sit back, watch it, and enjoy it.

Nervous because our season and #19 depends on these 90 mins maybe? It's a big game, it's hard not to be nervous.

I'm not, I'm excited. All I have on my mind is that if we don't lose, we will be champions. I'm seeing this match as a title-winner, not a title-loser.

Don't be silly ffs. I'm not nervous, why should I be??

I can't affect the game whatsoever. If I were a United player or Fergie I would be.

I cant just make myself not nervous. Ive been shitting it all week and today as been awful.

I get nervous often for big games but nothing quite like this. I feel ill

Right, but sat at home, whatever you do, or whatever state you get yourself into, is not going change matters in terms of the end result. So it's rather pointless isn't it? It's the same as people that get stressed and worried over things that they cannot control. Carry on though!

If any United fan wasn't nervous.. he's just not normal.

No. They were just excited because you can't do anything except turn the TV off sitting at home so no need to be nervous.

If there was a chance the world may be coming to an end, due to circumstances beyond your control, would you be nervous in any way? Or just carry on as normal since you can't control it?

I just ensured I will have no nerves today by rowing 15,000 metres on my rowing machine. I am now too fecked to to be able to get excited about anything. I shall just sit in front of the TV like a jelly.

What about during a game? Were you nervous in the shootout against Chelsea?

Yeah I was, that's different though.

As I previously mentioned, pre-game I'm absolutely fine. If we are losing to Chelsea with 30 minutes to go I'll become nervous. I don't see the need to be nervous leading up to a game, especially with the position we are in.

Nervous here, bought a 24hr pass so i could watch the match while working... Not risking streams going off air today

You really are odd at times, Weaste.

You think people decide to be nervous, because they think it helps? Are you actually human... it's like a Sci-Fi film where the robot tries to understand human emotions!:wenger:

Do you need to ask that Weaste? People are people, not robots.

Immaterial of us being unable to affect matches, people will be nervous, for fearing the worst.

Some will be, some won't be. It's not hard to understand why people have nerves.

Ok I think I am clear about this now. Some are nervous, some are not, some never do ever, some do sometimes but not at others times.

This is fun

I wish the game is delayed so we could analyse human nerves in more detail.

I remember when Michael Jordan was asked if hew as ever nervous when he knew he was going to be taking the game-winning shot. He looked incredulous and said "why would I be nervous about something that hasn't happened yet?".

I get his point but still have a few butterflies right now!!

I think we are in for a roller-coaster this evening! We'll go behind but come back for the win and hopefully see some Terry tears at the end.

Keep the football talk for somewhere else Mick. This is about nerves now.

You're a fun poster Weaste, but that's a downright bizarre post.

If emotions were that easy to control, then people would happy day in day out. And one is nervous about these things because of the a) importance and b) fact that they have no say in the matter.
