IT IS NOW! :D :D :D

4 in a row now.

Rudd is scoring again!

Beware we're back!

Scholes made the difference imo.

I had a 4-0 win in my picks. ;)

Table for now...

Team P Pts GoalDiff Goals Scored
Arsenal 8 20 13 21
Liverpool 8 18 10 18
Middlesbrough 8 14 6 11
Man Utd 8 14 3 9

Giggs 2 assists and 1 goal in the second half.
Ruud 1 goal (from open play) and 1 assist in the second half.
Scholes 1 goal and very involved in the second half.

Man of the Match?

Difference between the 2 halves, played people in their right positions, Ruud came on, Giggs got his act together.

I think RVN is the glue that holds that team together. he's vital to making everything work.

I'd make Giggs my MOM, though Rio did make a couple of great interceptions as Scholes played well.

But Giggs made the differerence in the end.

RVN my MOM! <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" /> <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" />

TV just showed the goals.

Fantastic goal from Giggs! He looked so cool... And a wonderful pass from Ruud.

And Scholes goal came from when he was running in to the penalty area - just like old times...

Two great passes from Giggs. Easy goal for Ruud but he was in the right position.

Ole set up Giggs for his pass to Scholes BTW.

:D :D :D :D :D

I don't think you can look past Giggs for MOM. Tho I haven't seen the match and maybe shouldn't speak...

And we did score the first before Ruud came on. ;)

If it was on the first half, then it would be a charlton player as MOM. But on second half, then it has to be Giggs for involvement in all 3 goals.

I hope Alex learns the lesson though, Scholes' best position is midfield.

A good result!! Now, I can't quite name him, but I'm sure there was a notable absence from our squad tonight. ;)

Yes, we missed Keano but we still won. ;)

I haven't seen the game yet, but I'll bet having Scholes back gave a psychological lift to the players.

It might not have been the best of performances, but nerves must play a big part. That will have gone a long way to settling them, and restoring some of the belief.

Now, let's play our best 4-4-2 formation in the PL and stick to it to get some consistency and some gelling.

Scholes looked like he didn't miss a game, despite coming back from an operation. We missed him. Giggs was on fire in the second half, his contribution cannot be neglected. When we reverted back to the normal 4-4-2 with Scholes in midfield, we played much better. I hate to say this, but Forlan was quite disappointing again.

Big slice of humble pie, laced with lashings of lack-o-faith cream.

Eat thy words, and never make such a mistake again.

Cracking result lads. We've all been sick of playing well in the 1st and blowing it in the 2nd. Today was Man Utd as their best. Top marks.

One very happy MFFM
:D

Agree with you there. I was reading an article this week that basically said our world's been turned upside down in that now we seem to play beautifully in Europe but have lost our way in the league. I think that's because 4-5-1 is a winning formula for us in Europe...but 4-4-2 works best for us in the league. And we're using 4-5-1 too much in the league, with too many players playing in different positions every week. We just need to play 4-4-2 week-in, week-out with the same players every week in their natural positions and I think we'll see a totally different team out there.

Just back from the game. Great result, and I have to laugh at all these numnuts after reading this thread..

We always struggle at The Valley. Does anyone remember the match there in our greatest season ever? Or the 3-3 game there two season later?

First half was a bit sloppy, but we were good in the second half, but I thought we would be denied yet again by a great goalkeeping performance (what is it with the oppositions' goalies this seaosn???). But we we carved out chances, and we won deservedly in the end.

Great performances by O'Shea, Giggs, Scholes and Ruud.

there is about 5 people on here in this thread who i respect like liv, giggzy, murt, liz and aebm but most of you should just look back over this thread and see how feckin stupid you are
