Manchester United vs Athletic Bilbao (Sun 6th August, 16:00 UK time)

The absolute worst thing about this was that the game today was announced and tickets sold before the Lens fixture was made. The marketing was about how it was after the 4 USA game tour and last game before the EPL. Mentioned the big name players and any reasonable fan would think "should get to see all the big players in last game".

The club well and truly shafted the fans. I am glad I decided not to go and instead get tickets for the wolves game next week.

Yup. Folk have every right to be annoyed about the lineup. They pulled the same shit in Edinburgh.

None of those players were even on the bench let alone the starting lineup. I'm not even sure if they were anywhere near the stadium? It's like making a poster that says "Free Shags" with a picture of Scarlett Johansson on it, and when you arrive you get brought into a room and it's just me sprawled on an air mattress wearing a nightie.

I get that the younger players deserve to get a chance to show their worth, or to build fitness, but in these high profile "tour" style games? At least in Edinburgh the tickets were a bit cheaper than what folk have been gouged for today.

As long as the team puts in a good performance the fans won't care after 90mins

Same thing happened with the Wrexham game. And, from what I read, those tickets weren't cheap. Even got SAF to do a promotional video for the game.
Wrexham was promoted from the off as an academy team.

A youth-focused team drawn from United’s travelling squad, supplemented by Academy prospects, will take on Wrexham AFC on Tuesday 25 July, as part of a week-long training camp in San Diego.

John Murtough, Manchester United Football Director, said:

“This will be the first time the team has visited San Diego, and we are looking forward to playing in front of our passionate US fans at Snapdragon Stadium. Pre-season tours are always a great occasion to give opportunities for our most promising young Academy players to gain valuable experience in the first-team environment, and this match against Wrexham AFC is a great example of that.

“Manchester United has a history of nurturing and promoting youth and this is a chance for not only Erik but also our US supporters to assess the homegrown talent that is developing within our Academy, and hopefully to be able to say, ‘I saw him here first,’ if some of those players go on to establish themselves as first-team regulars.”

The promo video with SAF was a shit thing to do, gave the impression it was elevated above other friendlies but the ticket pages etc said and shown it would be an academy side.

IIRC that was totally from Wrexham's side. Don't think United need Fergie to promote any game.

The fans in Ireland are lucky really , there are are lot of fans go to Old Trafford regularly and still haven`t had the opportunity to see Van de Beek.

This was a honest mistake. The club expected the international players to be back by then and they were back in training but not ready to play.

Sancho needs to score on that 1v1 even if the keeper is the lovechild of Buffon and prime De Gea.

Come on Jadon mate, I want Sancho to get back into his Dortmund form so bad.

Beautifully worked out from defense there. Nice to see the ball not being treated like a hot potato.
