Manchester United videos

Now that I've been promoted up here to the big leagues, I wanted to to thank you (and dartagnan1981, if the credit goes to him) for these videos. As I born and bred yank, it was almost impossible to see much of this era. In the late 80s, my coach would get tapes sent over occasionally (and that's what drew me to United), but that would amount to maybe a couple of United games each year. So to see these collections of goals from those first United players that I was ever very familiar with, is incredible.
I just wanted to follow up on this, as I forgot to mention this before. Perhaps one of the coolest things about these videos of the late 80s to early 90s, is seeing the crowds on the terraces. What a brilliant atmosphere that adds, even on TV. Just a mass of humanity.

Yes i'd love to see the follow up too.

It's such a wonderful collection. It would mean having all Cantona, Beckham, Yorke, Cole, McClair, Giggs etc etc goals on your pc!

Mark Hughes was such a spectacular player!

Good posts RDC, think Rooney and Ronaldo v. Bolton on the break deserve a shout as does Scholes v. barca

United's star striker Denis Law is unable to play the match because of a knee injury and his absence leave many a Red worried how their team would cope. For back then, in 1968 Benfica is considered the best European team by France Football and possess a forward who is now one of the all-time footballing legends: Eusebio.

An estimated 250 million TV viewers are watching worldwide while it is the biggest television audience since the 1966 World Cup final two years before.

100,000 fans packed Wembley on a searingly hot and humid May Night. As both United and Benfica wore red as a first choice kit, on the night United plays in an all blue away kit.
Busby plays United in a 4-3-3 formation: Best, Kidd and Aston up front, Charlton, Sadler and Crerand in midfield and Foulkes, Brennan, Dunne and Stiles at the back.

Benfica's main plan is to close down George Best, who had destroyed them with a hat-trick two years earlier in Lisbon. However by concentrating on him they leave Bobby Charlton with a free reign. Nobby Stiles' role is to man-mark Eusebio.

Manchester United - End Of Season Review 2001/2002

This football release features Manchester United--arguably, the world's finest football team--during the best moments of their 2001-2002 season. There were plenty of new faces, along with new contracts, including the return of Sir Alex Ferguson and the resigning of Beckham, Giggs, Scholes, and Keane.

United may have been denied a record-breaking fourth consecutive Premier League title, and may have lost to Bayer Leverkusen in the semi-final of the Champions League, but to call the season a failure does not do justice to the performances throughout the campaign. From the incredible 5-3 comeback at White Hart Lane to the quarter final victories over Deportivo, the season had considerable highs. That the trophy cabinet remained bare is only because of uncharacteristic errors that cost needless points.

If You Like This, A Thanks Is Appreciated, Cheers!

...

Might be a bit early on, but any highlights from todays game? I was at work, and missed the game.

thanks a lot

did you watch the whole game , how was petrucci

That was the only TV coverage, too little to judge Petrucci. The game is discussed in the reserves forum.

All these Scholes threads recently have made be trawl the internet looking for scholes compilations. But theres one goal that never seems to be on them and is one of my personnal favourites of his.

Its from the treble season and its where he fakes to shoot with his right cuts inside and curls it into the top corner with his left foot. Almost certain it was against liverpool which made it even sweeter!

If anyone can find it'd be much appreciated.

This one?

It´s not exactly like you described it but it´s a curling shot with his left foot and it´s against Liverpool.

If anyone has the pre- and post-match stuff from today I`ll be grateful for a torrent. The noggie commentators decided that they wanted to talk on top of Ole`s speech so I didn`t catch it.
