Manchester United v Stoke (U23)

Who played that long ball to Greenwood then. Was weighed beautifully

Easy to see that Laird got attacking abilities far better than the fullbacks in our first team.
Levitt is one of the best passers at the club.

While Mellor is not a technical player, his pressing is more precise than Lingards useless running. Could play Mellor instead of Lingard and it would improve our pressing and overall play.

Laird is in a league of his own for attacking full backs, should’ve picked up another assist there.

My God we have been sloppy in front of goal today. I still can't understand how Greenwood of all people, could miss the chances he had.

Have Stoke actually managed to win back possession without shirt pulling yet?

Almost too easy for him, was acting too casual.

It's a shame as the lack of action recently has made him a bit rusty. While he needs mens football to improve, not playing hardly any minutes on the bench isn't going to help him either.

A loan to the championship in January will probably be the best move if we can get a striker in.

Laird and Williams as the wingbacks... needs to happen while it can this season.. Europa League group stage at home our best hope.

I would almost argue that we could play him as a right wing for the first team given the options we have there.
Possibly but you rarely get the time and space as a winger that you do as a full back, Laird with time and space can pick out a needle in a haystack.

He isn't going on loan, a bit pointless after letting two strikers leave to promote him

What mental championship club would play a loaned 18 year old striker? He’d be better off staying here, he’s getting more game time here than he would anywhere else.

Best players of the first half were Laird, Levitt, and Gomes. Chong needs to threaten a bit more with his dribbling.

The Stoke keeper is very theatrical but he’s a good little player, two good saves against Chong.

Puigmal and Chong combining for two good efforts on goal. Instant impact from Puigmal.

And now a great finish from Gomes to make it 2-1

Oh that was brilliant from Gomes.

Laird finding Puigmal with all those players inside the box, is something.

Gomes has his penalty saved. Surprisee he takes ahead of Greenwood.
Why? He nearly never misses, he’s a great penalty taker usually. Their keeper is having a great game.

The Stoke player who gave away the penalty has had an awful game, he’s been a ticking time bomb.
