Manchester United v Manchester City

I just look at them as souvenirs for the day trippers. Imagine if you lived in China and after supporting United all your life you finally got to watch them live at Old Trafford. You can understand why they'd buy it to remember their day.
I see it like this. Never understood the furore they cause. My Dad can't stand them but I just see it as a memento for people coming to OT for a once in a lifetime trip.

There's also a very practical use: You can use them in the shower. One bit to wash your face and the other to wash your arse.

I'm in a bit of a spot. I have a ticket through the Canadian supporters club; my credit card's been charged but my confirmation email hasn't come yet. Assuming it doesn't do I just head to the ticket office? (I've contacted the branch but haven't heard back yet. I'm not really panicked - more just curious.) First game for me in almost four years. United have never conceded with me at OT btw.

All you fools protesting against the Glazers......Where's the protest against half and half scarves?!?!

As a child, I collected them on European nights..(Madrid, Juventus, Fiorentina)...But anyone walking around tomorrow with a United/City half and half scarf should be carted away in shackles by the GMP

Not totally fair, it could be pexbo on his way home to remove a particularly stubborn set of clinkers.

I think you should go three in midfield. Carrick, Fellaini and Fletcher would give you a much better chance of getting something.

I think we'll approach the game with a cautious line-up, especially given RvP is injured, I think the big question is whether Fletcher can play two games so close together, if not then it could be a big test/opportunity for Cleverley.

De Gea

Rafael
Vidic
Jones
Evra

Carrick
Cleverley
Fellaini

Valencia
Rooney
Welbeck

Probably that's why fate conspires that you're not going to see it live at OT? We're gonna concede

I'm confident about a good result tonight. I do think we can beat them, which given the season we've had, would be a wonderful result. I doubt City are going to be underestimating us in the slightest, as it's a derby, but I get the feeling we have turned a corner and the players will be bang up for this.
2-1 United.

According to PhysioRoom, we have RVP and Vidic out, but Smalling, Evans, Ferdinand, Valencia & Nani are all due back.

On that basis, it give's us more options, I think it's safe to say we play our best stuff with one up top but I feel that 1 can't be Rooney as we need him further back with City's strong midfield, with that in mind I'd go for something like:

DDG
Rafael Smalling Jones Buttner
Carrick Fellaini
Nani Rooney Mata
Welbeck

Subs: Lindegaard, Evans, Fletcher, Kagawa, Januzaj and Hernandez

Nani is seemingly ready the bolded players face late fitness tests.

3 man midfield for me tonight, the defence will be decided on who's fit.

Carrack Fellaini Fletcher

Wellbeck, Mata, Kagawa

Rooney

Would like us to play Rooney top and Mata behind with Wellbeck and Kagawa, Rooney and Wellbz should be flooding around Demichellis which can hopefully disrupt the returning Kompany.

And then 3 centre backs ?

3-3-3-1, bold.

Jokes aside, I am buzzing for tonight.

No just meant they face fitness test, Jones and Smalling (if Smallings not been singing in the street last night). But actually yea maybe 3 centre backs, why not we've been doing it half the season.

I think we have to play 3 in midfield, although obviously there is no chance whatsoever of that, which means 4-3-3 with a narrower 3 up top, again very unlikely.

Something like this:

De Gea
Rafael Jones Ferdinand Evra
Carrick Fellaini
Giggs
Mata Kagawa
Rooney

What do you mean seemingly ready? Sorry... and my formation did include 3 in the middle with Rooney as the furthest forward of the 3, perhaps I should have presented it more like yours except you realise you can't play 4 defenders with your choice?

Seemingly ready meaning he's fit but not match fit (Nani)
Sorry yea cocked that up, I will blame the ipad :nervous: I meant one of wellbeck or kagawa with Rooney at the point, I just think a 3 man might be our safest option.

@Stobzilla I get you now and yes I bolloxed it up.

Ah ok, thanks :) And what was that about Nani sorry? He is fit for the game, I'm not sure if match fit necessarily but I'm a bit of a confessed fanboi :)

Massive chance for us to derail their hopes of winning the away table league

Yea I meant match fit, might see him come in late in the game but Moyes has left out the likes of Giggs and Kagawa even Hernandez and just slung em in there so you never know.

This is something like what I would like to see, perhaps saving Giggs for the Bayern ties might be a thought and also Buttner in for some experience. I know we should be playing our best 11 but our eggs are all in another basket.

DDG
Rafael Rio Jones Buttner
Carrick Fellaini
Nani Mata Welbeck
Rooney
I'd like to see that

Throwing Nani into a derby when he's not played in 4 months, you people...aargh! He would be awful!

Need to throw him in at the deep end :D He can't be worse then what we have had tho in all honesty. He plays well against City, and provides a certain X Factor in this team. Clearly not a fan boy here...I do miss him tho

He certainly can be worse than Kagawa, given that he's inconsistent at the best of times and even more so after an injury. Kagawa/Welbeck on the wings, for me. Plus Nani's stamina will be shot after such a long layoff, it'd be a guaranteed sub. Bring him on with 30 mins to go for Kagawa to inject some pace into the team and give City more to worry about.

This is how it feels to be City...

As we have nothing to lose tonight - I've decided that we should probably go for it... which means the same front four that started against West Ham.

I am a bit worried about a Carrick and Fellaini midfield mind you... but then any midfield two would worry me at the moment.
