Manchester United Kits 2014/15

How hard is it for Nike to realise that by a million miles the favourite colour of the fans for United change kits is black. Not been a simple black kit for years, and they're loved pretty much every time.

That kit when O'Shea scored that chip vs. Highbury was sex.

Also any kit with Chevrolet emblazoned on it seems like it's going to be utterly shit.

I do wish they didn't make the players stand so awkwardly for these photos though. 'Shoulders back, arms dangling uselessly by your sides, look a bit more constipated... perfect!'

I always think they should get them to kick a ball around a bit and get some dynamic shots, because those always look more natural and the kit looks better that way. But at the very least get them to put their hands behind their backs.

I love the home shirt but I'd happily swap this stunner with the away kit. I hate us in white, and we always seem to lose big games when we wear it too.

It's alright. I'll never be a fan of those collars and buttons, but when you consider what Nike are capable of, you have to take alright.

It looks a bit orange because it's dimly lit and next to the blue (the eye is biased towards seeing complementary colours, can't get into the details of that here.) But it's 100% definitely red. It even says so in the description here:

I really like it.

Ah ha!

There we go then, I was sure it was orange because the person who said we were getting a third kit a little while ago mentioned it would be blue/orange.

See Señor's post.

:D

I think I posted it in the twitter thread too. Earlier than expected anyway! Turns out the stripes are meant to be red too.....

Wow. I'm just in love with that new third kit. Reminds me of the 2006 Blue/Red away jersey.

Just for the sake of convenience, here's the accompanying spiel from the official website:

For the much-anticipated 2014/15 season, ManUtd.com is proud to announce that Manchester United will wear a stylish and innovative new third kit.

With two different tones of blue, the Nike design is inspired by the club’s tradition of wearing blue kits throughout the 1980s, as well as the iconic strip worn by Sir Matt Busby’s men during the 1968 European Cup final triumph over Benfica at Wembley.

The shirt, shorts and socks are all a rich and vibrant blue on the front with a darker tone of the same colour on the back. These two tones are divided by a red stripe on both sides of the kit, representing United’s famous and historic home colour.

The half and half appearance is a traditional football design, but this is the first season it has ever been used on the front and back. The shirt also boasts a classic design with a sophisticated polo neck collar and three buttons in the darker tone of blue.

Like the recently released home and away kits, there is a label on the back of the neck with the message ‘Youth, Courage, Greatness’ to represent the club’s values.

The new United third kit will be worn for the first time during tonight's match with Inter Milan as part of Tour 2014, presented by Aon.

I'm dispensing my money and my jizz

It's blue and red. Says so on the official site.

Apparently the back is a darker blue than the front, btw. Hard to see that from those dimly-lit photos.

I'm renaming ir Ored, or Oranged anyway.

Does look orange though, maybe whomever leaked the information that there was to be a blue/orange 3rd kit thought it looked orange, like some of us do too.

I'll wait to see it later to make my mind up. :D

When the website next glitches I'll order for sure.

A kit for children loved by children. Awful kit.
