Manchester United 2:2 Steven Gerrard's Villa (Sat 23rd July, 10:45 UK time)

Thankfully after this game we won't have anymore of this Australian seasons nonsense.

Boring game. May be the pitch.

In what way is it boring? Did you not see us under LVG, Mourinho etc?

Agree that the pitch is a shocker and probably having a bearing but don’t think it’s been a boring game.

With the amount of ball our defenders are seeing it's easy to see what Martinez will add to the team on the ball.

Ramsay is a player Utd should be keeping an eye on, defintely something there if he continues to develop.

I continue to be incredulous that anyone could have thought it a good idea to make Harry Maguire the most expensive defender transfer in history. Just a horrible player, bottom line.

Donny seems like such a nice guy and determined and all that.... Just not very good.

Close! Bruno has been excellent from a defensive point, not as good attacking wise so far.

Donny is a complete non entity. Pisses me off. Apart from that everyone has done pretty well.

Our pressing

Villa clearly weren't expecting this aggression from us.

Great ball by Bruno after winning the ball back. Sancho takes a really bad touch unfortunately. Probably should have had his 2nd goal

Maguire is just so brainless. If only he could balance his shiteness as a defender with goals from that empty bonce.

Blimey. Rash is working really hard. ETH effect?

It's much easier to work hard when you're having 67% possession.

Ten Hag has taught the players how to keep possession which Ole and Ralf failed miserably at and now we have more energy to press when we lose the ball.

He hasn’t done anything wrong

although my stream is behind

We are still a bit crap playing out the ball from the back sadly. With Donny non existent and never actually providing a passing options it's hard.

Shades of Beckenbauer from Maguire there. Starting to look like the 80m defender Ole paid for.

Most of the caf that summer :
