Watching the game... we're unimpressive and defense is hardly great. Just a preseason match though.

Halftime:
Ajax-MAn Utd 1:0
Well, Veron looks very good, but he was little tired at the and of the half. Becks has very bad night, very nervous, he almost started a fight with one Ajax dude few minutes before the and. Rio plays very good, but he and Blanc don't cooperate on high balls sented by Ajax wingers.
Ruud had one great chanse, Giggs also, and Ryan looks little slower than in last year.
Forlan is abysmal! He lost 5-6 balls and didn't have even a chanse to kick a ball to Ajax's goalkeeper.
We didn't have a single corner in 45 minutes!

2-0 Ajax. Barthez is injured and couldn't defend the goal, from what they said on talksport. He was signalling to come of beforehand.

And he has now come off, Carrol on.

Great goal, good set up by Keano <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" /> <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" /> <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" />

Good Workout....seemed a tough game...I'd rather this than beating 2nd division asian teams 8 nil or something.. :) :)

We need stiff opposition in these games because the CL qualifier is rapidly approaching and we've got to be ready. I'm surprised that the england lads only returned today, but I suppose thats always the case on WC years, and its the same for all top teams. Sounds like we only lost because Barthez was injured and they took that as asn opportunity to score. Hope its not serious, we don't want to lose him for long, though in someways Carroll was more reliable. I'd love to know the goalkeeping statistics for last season, who let in how many goals in how many games, number of clean sheets etc. One good thing to come out of this game is Roy Keane. And the good news is he's the same man he has always been, inspirational, terrifying, and hungry. <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" /> <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" /> <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" />

Watched the match, hate to say it but Ajax deserved to win. They played better, we faced the usual problem: we had trouble unlocking a good defense. Midfield didn't create many chances either.

we made some good chances IMO.. but you're right, we still need something extra upfront.. been saying that for ages.

Obviously
I thought Chivu IS one of the best central defenders in europe

And Silvestre had been several times beaten by Ajax's winger's speed

Hence why Di Canio seemed so logical - so what has the Wizard got up his sleeve? Which was the best front pairing in this game?

Never known him to be outpaced before - not fit?

heard ronny wants to leave inter... Real seem to be interested... i hope we are n'all.

anyway... Fergie said that he's not going to sign Di Canio... so feck knows who we'll buy

Can't see us having the money for him anyway.

Becks and Giggs made the central part crowded and thus they couldn't give our side backs more supports

In the 2nd half Butt and Scholes replaced Becks and Veron, the game seemed to be speeded up,but new problems occured, nobody in our midfield could hold up the ball...

BTW,their wingers are EXCELLENT.We should remember these names: van der Meyde, Sikora, Van der Vaart

true..

probably one of the lazio forwards.. crespo or lopez.. however Duff shouldn't be ruled out.

How did Rio perform - I saw somewhere that blamed him for one of the goals...was that right?

Mido and Ibrahimovic have great potential as well.

Rio wasn't to blame for the 1st goal, the ball bounced off the wall after a free kick to find Sikora, Rio was the closest to him and he slided to try and stop the kick but couldn't.
He wasn't on for the 2nd goal, but he was superb in the 57 or so minutes he played.
I think he even had a save from the line.

Ibrahimovic is a cnut, wouldn't want him in a United shirt not even if they pay us to take him.

Thanks for that - he must be saving his cock-ups for the Premiership.

;)

I think it does look most likely to be one of the Lazio forwards, but I do think Duff should be ruled out, after Kenyon saying so. Doubt we'd pay that much for him either.
