Man Utd players unhappy with training...

The Mourinho one is bollocks given how we saw him manage at Spurs.

Nothing wrong with a manager leaving a session to his assistants and watching from afar, that's exactly what he hires them for. The problems under Mourinho were when Rui Faria left and McKenna and Carrick stepped in.

Then those problems continued under Ole.

Horribly out of touch with modern football. The 4 best managers/head coaches in the league are training ground obsessives.

It essentially means you're leaving your Rui Farias and co to be the ones who are going head to head with Klopp/Guardiola/Tuchel/Conte on the training pitch - a battle they're always going to lose. As far as I've seen Faria hasn't pulled up any trees since leaving United

Nice job collecting these!

I am getting a feeling that this pattern has more to do with British sports media than managers or even players.

Some asshole writes "according to a number of players" and people eat it up. Any proof that thouse "journalists" actually talked to anybody? I am pretty confident a bunch of them just sense a "story" that they deem plausible and write whatever feck they want whether it has any legs or matters at all. Like that other story about a fight during training - overblown bullshit that probably happens on every training ground weekly, but now used to sell clicks for lazy dumb reporters

No it's common sense. Klopp and Pep are not running every single session either. You learn nothing without taking a step back and watching some times.

Klopp & Guardiola are training ground managers first and foremost. They take the vast majority of training at their clubs - occasionally they might not, but their main remit is to actually train the players they have at their disposal.

It's why it makes feck all difference to Guardiola when he lost Arteta (whos shown himself to be nothing special) and when Klopp lost the alleged mastermind behind his success.

A pattern of clickbait articles by journos that knows how to get consistent clicks each time a new manager comes in?

Not saying players haven't complained, but every time I see such articles I always question the source before drinking it down as gospel.

Not really. Just a reality that there have been lots of leaks. Fairly obvious who it is.
Sorry pal but it is tabloid nonsense and always is. They have no sources and report the same thing over and over. If it suits the agenda people will accept it at face value. Just my view

My money is on Rashford, Shaw, De gea because theyve been here for along time and they behave like divas.

Rashford should have left alongtime ago and now he is doing his PR stuff and saying he wants to work under Ten Hag, come on, here we go again.

But Luke Shaw’s staying. . . oh sorry, I forgot it’s a certain type of player that gets labelled loose lipped.

Yeah, the type that have been outed on national television.

Don't try that one with me mate, you want to try and have that discussion with me I suggest you check my stance via previous posts and shoot me a DM.

True, but there’s been plenty of overlap. Maybe a rotten culture handed down through the generations?

Might be, it's just that even people use "same squad" they are just wrong.

Must be hard for them.
Rocking up to work in a high performance car worth hundreds of thousands at around 10 am.
Then play football until lunch time.
After that maybe discuss tactics and watch videos of football.
Bit of gym work, possibly a massage.
Then home at 3.
Horrific.

But some nasty people, absolute bastards that they are, want them to put a bit of effort in. It's frankly disgusting.
£350,000 a week is just not enough to survive under these conditions.

Such a despicable group of players, never their fault and always happy to throw the coach under the bus.

Our outgoings are just as important as our incomings in the next 5-6 windows, we need to turf as much of these rats as possible in that time.

It's like saying musicians don't like playing instruments anymore.
Programmers don't like coding anymore.
Medical doctors don't like talking to patients anymore.
Lawyers don't like reading evidences anymore.

Only footballers get away with it. Only them.

I think we’ve learnt that our players are a bunch of cnuts and can’t be trusted. I think until every single player is eventually gone we will have this virus amongst us, they are poisonous and we’ve got to protect the youth from getting poisoned by them.

I can only assume that some players think that basic training is beneath them

The same people no doubt who can't pass, can't tackle, can't run and can't shoot

Please boo them out. Let them know you side with the manager.

No more it doesnt help their performance bullshit. They need to get some hard cold truth stilled into their brain that we do not tolerate this

The Athletic article says that Amass and Sharp are poor coaches. It’s not really controversial if you look at their careers. They’re out of their depth. It says the club and Rangnick wanted Carrick and McKenna to stay on.

Also the source might be anyone, it might be other coaches or staff who liked Carrick and McKenna. Usual default position among the fanbase is, guess the player and talk shit about them. Even worse just talk shit about every player.

Agreed, but it's not the squad, it's the culture. If you read about the Hundred Monkey effect, you will know what I'm talking about. In case you didn't it was basically an observation where a new behaviour spreads through a group of monkey, despite the originator not being there anymore.

Both Fergie and Cruyff when they stepped into their roles had to change the established culture(drinking at Man Utd and being victims at Barca). We have a culture of over entitled brats as things stand.

How many times did we have new players join in and then within 6 months they start losing their spark? Just look at Bruno. When he joined he looked like this determined WC player willing to uphold standards and his team mates accountable. Now look at him now: a shell of himself that constantly complains about everything. For some people the environment is too big of a hurdle to handle.

Ronaldo is the exception. Unlike most players, he doesn't let the environment dictate how he should feel, but rather the opposite. Hence the strife in the dressing room, because his presence is challenging the established status quo.

The biggest challenge ETH will face isn't the board or transfers or playing styles... it will be to completely uprooting this toxic over entitled environment and replace it with a meritocratic one.

Ohh i can guarantee you it is. The Board often stand in the way when our managers want to kick some players out of the club. this board's action is fostering the culture we are seeing today.

It's not 100%, though. DDG, Shaw, Jones, Lingard, Mata and Rashford all played under LVG. If it is one of them I know who my money's on.

I think we will see a lot less negative stories about the club once Lingard leaves and Rashford gets sold to a West Ham next summer.

We've managed to assemble a number of entitled twats who need to be fecked off asap

We always had negative stories even when both of these players weren't part of first team. People are in dreamland if they think we won't have negative stories of some players are sold. Stories will stop if we start winning trophies, at least the volume of stories

Have they ever considered that it's a job and it's about preparing to win football matches - not dancing about the chnaging rooms and trying to get a TikTok of you nutmegging someone?

true but toxicity at a workplace is infective. It only takes 2-3 bad apples to rot the rest and unless once act quickly then the rot remains even if the original bad apples are finally removed. In my opinion, one of United's biggest problems is its inability of handling a high staff turnover. Thus players can easily become complacent by knowing that all it takes for them to be handled a new contract is for them not to be at the end of the pile.
Yes, but it's hard to get rid of those on the high wages we pay them.

True. It is absurd though that we’ve got two MLS coaches of no real renown being the most responsible for preparing us for games. If we’d of brought in a couple of average League One coaches for this job people would rightly lose their minds but this is the kind of level these lads are at.

The article claims that Sharp is especially poor at his job.

The first story linked is from Rashford and Lingard's breakout season. By now we have been able to narrow the toxicity in our dressing room down to a handful of players. If they go, things will improve on and off the pitch.

Shaw outs himself in national papers whenever things don’t go right for himself, pointing the finger at whichever manager is in his wake at the time though. He played badly under Jose, returns to a semblance of form then digs him out. He plays badly under RR, he digs United/RR out whilst on England duty. His lips are as loose as any.

I’ve been censored so it’s difficult to have a proper conversation when you’re being dubbed but the irony that you felt ‘randomly & casually’ accused of something when you’re ‘randomly & casually’ accusing certain players of behaviours others have exuded surely can’t be lost on you. I’d suggest checking my post history, if I think I would outright call you something if I thought it. My DMs are always open.

We had similar stories and even worse before their breakout season. Also Rashford made debut in Feb and the story was published in December.

Shaw was arguably our best player during the first half of 18/19, which was received with Mourinho claiming that it was his mind in Shaw's body.

Yeah, true. Anyways all this is behind us now, it's a new start under ETH and he is bringing his own staff.

He was in matchday squads in November though and he was training with the first team for at least a year before that. Whether the leaks are him or not, he was definitely in the first team setup at the time.

So? Are you saying Rashford leaked news when he didn't even make his debut?

Maybe about time Mejbri and other youth players gets pulled into this, they were part of first team training.

I know you love Rashford, but there are a handful of players who have been here throughout the duration of these leaks. He is one of them. So are Lingard and Shaw, both of whom have form for this.

The method of narrowing down anything has been by: assuming everything because family members of players have made a negative comment at some point, and Who could possibly have a reason to be unhappy

Genuinely, no one here knows anything about who has leaked outside of rumours and the fallpit of: "Because it makes sense"

Paul Scholes is a big tattlemouth, it could very likely be him who is leaking information told in confidence.
