Man Utd interested in Witsel? | Fergie rumoured to have watched him v Chelsea

He just came out of the blue really, seems a bit odd that up until August no-one had heard of him besides people in Belgium, and now he's worth €24m.

Seems a bit out there to be honest.

Indeed.

Don't see us bidding €24m for him, but still reports there claim that bids of around €19m from City and Chelsea have been rejected.

Right, so tell me a bit more about him then.

So far all I know is that he can play anywhere across the midfield, he's young and he's Liege's best player.

How good is he really, as in is he better than someone like Nani, and where would he fit in?

He's the best player in the world.

I've seen the guy plenty of times, and I can tell you one thing - his tackling is sublime.

I think I heard somewhere that his passing is sublime too. We have a winner on our hands here lads.

I heard his heading was awesome

I've seen plenty of midfielders in my life, some of them better, some of them worse, but when it comes to heading this guy is simply a class above them all. Class of his own, amazing in fact.

Have heard he's a good all round player not alot more seems a bit crazy a figure of 24 mil being bandied about. More like 5 maybe 6 at most

You know what, you rarely see midfielders who dribble well while playing in the center. He's one of them. They don't come along too often. His dribbling is simply perfect.

Anyone know what his throw ins are like?

sounds not too bad at all. Tried rooting out as much proper footage of em as possible even if its youtube to gain a bit of a picture but anything out there is pretty poor. Wont hold my breathe on it though especially with a figure like that. If ya find any decent footage of the lad send it on to me

There's a certain reason why there's little footage of him. He makes things seem so easy that they simply do not record them on tape. He does everything very fast, he needs no time to make a decision. His passes fly in and out at enormous speeds, and he dribbles past opposition at the speed of a really fast bike. Then he takes a shot, and I will tell you one thing - there are players whose shots are powerful. For example, our Ronaldo can hit the ball hard. But Axel Witsel is a level above that. Once he takes a shot, goalkeeper knows there's no point in trying to save it. In fact, he realizes it the moment the ball touches the net, because he doesn't have time before that. He's that powerful, that Witsel lad.

Yeah, ok, it was funny the first couple of posts but let's not get carried away, eh? ;)

I've seen him providing an assist with a throw-in plenty of time. And there's a certain difference between his throw-ins and Rory Delap's throw-ins. Rory Delap just throws the ball, Witsel gives it a special rotation and curve, the way it's only possible for his teammate to see the ball.

Carried away? I'm trying to tell them how good the lad is, that's it. And you know what - he won't tell them himself because he seems to have this down to earth personality. A bit like Scholes, although a lot shier. He'd much rather prove himself on the pitch than talk about himself. And when it comes to loyalty, you won't find a guy like him. In fact he rejected a £1m deal from Calvin Klein because he wanted to concentrate on his football. And yes, he's so handsome that CK have just upped their bid to £2m.

I've heard he only eats bicycles and whole live alligators. Great for keeping up his immense strength, subtlety and accuracy, but not so good for fitting in with the burger, beer and fag culture at Old Trafford.

this is so so true, plus he plays running backwards with his eyes closed and his hands on his hips at ALL times. He's a formidable force, a force to be reckoned with I tell you

That's actually because he finds football so easy, that he incorporates Irish dancing into his play to make it a challenge.

Rather then doing the Seal trick he places the ball on his erect penis and runs straight to the goal, he has now scored 19 goals that way. Thats not the only thing he does with his penis, because of the size of it he lets it drag between the legs so no one can nutmeg him, not even O'Shea.

People have a weird sense of humour.
