Man United's Premier League record when winning at half time at Old Trafford - 294 Wins, 25 Draws, 0 Defeats

hard not to see it happening today. the process of burning everything down will be almost complete, just need to pick a squad without a youth player then

Honest question, was anyone even aware of this record before it started getting brought up a few years ago?

It will be United have only lost once while leading at half time since 1984, which is still a good stat. Could be where the floodgates open and it becomes a common thing though.

With us close to bottom of the league in March, it's the type of side to lose it anyway.

Diehard fans definitely, ive know about it forever so I assume a lot of people have.

It will of course fall eventually and it will be sad

...and breathe. I know it'll be done sooner or later but tonight it would've felt even shittier after we only conceded in 74th minute and had better chances in the second half.

This means that since 1984, United win 91.5% of their home games when leading at half time. It's a phenomenal stat.
It is really. But is it league games only or also in Europe and cup competitions?

God knows how that record has survived during these banter years.
I was sure it wouldn't survive today. Also few seasons ago when Casemiro was sent off vs Palace thought we'd crumble.

Also, last season we lost 3-1 at City after we were 1-0 up at HT. Think that was also first time to lose away after leading since 2014 and defeat at Swansea. So that took a decade as well.

We've barely been ahead at half time is one reason
That’s certainly the reason this season.

We were absolutely dominated in that first half. When Arsenal had a corner just before half time, I actually reasoned with myself, that if they scored, at least we wouldn’t lose the record!

What’s astonishing is that we had so many great chances in the second half, in another day (or if for a team with confidence), Arsenal would have lost quite heavily- even with them continuing to dominate the ball.

We really should have won that - a combo of an outrageous Raya save and some shit finishing.

Which is a better feeling than I had at half time when I was expecting this record to be lost.

It’s mad that this record stretches all the way back to the 80s. You could be approaching 40 years old and still never seen United a lose a game they were leading at HT.

the last time before last season was the 5-3 against Leicester.

As I said, there are grandparents who are younger than this record.

I shat my pants when they had that chance near the end
That was the lens I watched the entire second half through, especially once Rice equalised. The record was the only thing on the line, couldn’t really give a toss about the league or anything else to do with the game.

Perhaps thats why Utd play shit in the first half, hoping not to score so the record can go on!

It really is an incredible statistic. But I'm kinda hoping we blow it to f**king Bournemouth or Brentford or someone, because now we can't even enjoy the prospect of taking a half time lead against say City or the Scousers without worrying that we'll lose the record to them!
