How will Semedo work when you guys already have Valencia? I believe Jose called him "Best right back in the league"? Are you going to bring Semedo just to rotate?

Valencia will be 32 at the start of next season and is heavily reliant on his athleticism. I can see his form falling off a cliff once he starts to slow down, and we have no cover at RB.

If you bring Semedo and he finds himself.not saying enough times he is going to ask to leave. I think for the right back spot at this moment in time Mourinho has to decide to make one of Tuanzebe or Fosu his long-term right back and mould him into that. If they are not good enough in two-three years time then go spend on an rb
Sure, but I'm assuming Valencia has a season left at most as a starter. Tuanzebe has played <10 minutes for the first team, and has played as a CB through the youth ranks so I don't really see any basis for that hypothesis. TFM can't get a look in ahead of Darmian and Young when Valencia is out. Any theory that depends on Jose placing that much trust in youth is just wishful thinking until he proves otherwise.
Valencia isn't slowing down. Darmian/Young is the backup. We shouldn't spend big money to replace 2 decent backups. Wait a year or two, and see what's about. It's obvious Jose is not thinking about a RB this summer.
Fosu maybe, but Tuanzebe certainly isn't a right back. The problem is if we don't buy cover, Valencia gets injured and our second option is Fosu and he doesn't quite make the cut (if we were to sell Darmian as he wants first team football). I personally think he should be given more chances as he was better than Darmian last season, but it's still a risk doing that next season.
Theres also the possibility that Benfica put on a pretty decent feed for Scouts and our scouts just happen to like going there every weekend.

Benfica is probably in trouble and they need to sale a few players that's when Mendes comes to rescue them, a lot of bull shit news in the papers saying united or Real Madrid wants X player and they hope another club to buy the player(s)

Yeah I like that thinking! I wonder how they confirm your credentials, or could you travel around Europe enjoying hospitality and watching big games every week pretending to be a United scout.

Yes thats true according to the press (and other posters have said) over there were always going to sign that winger Gaiten every year until he went to Atletico.
Think you have to apply through the Clubs official notification procedure and you get credentials to say ''United scout etc.'' I wonder does a club have to pay for a ticket for one of their scouts or are the other club (Benfica in this case) obliged to provide a certain number of seats for scouts/officials etc?
