I was reading this thread

and i cant help but agree with the posters on the last page.

Not wanting to rock the boat, just putting it forward as an idea...

To make a comparison, its like when having a conversation with a mate, some random guy comes and stands up behind you and listens.

Plus, we'll get solvista back, and that cant be a bad thing.

What say ye?
 
I like that idea but to be honest I send links to friends occasionally when something funny happens. Maybe a second forum that is private to nonmembers?

Overall though I am in favour of making the general private.

In which case surely its easier not to say anything about anybody in your life on this forum...

I dont feel the need to...I dont know why anyone else would...

Crap idea, I don't post in the general though but keep the Caf free.
 
It would cost Niall, and really not do much, it's not like people can just sign up and post in there anyway which is good enough for me
 
Also solvista posted pictures of himself which is never a good idea when you want privacy, he should have just gotten a new username and came back and kept his mouth shut up about his identity
 
I can see no downside to making the General private - makes sense to me (although perhaps this would impact on advertising revenue?)
 
It's a stupid idea. People would just register an account and view it. It's the same shit.

Remaining publicly anonymous is the best thing to do on the interent as this guy has Solvista learned the hard way.
 
Keep it public,dont write stuff then you dont want the world to see.The fact that it is public is one of the reasons it is so popular.God knows if it was private what sort of rubbish we would be subjected to and I am sure it would be a no go area for me
 
What a load of nonsense this is.

Some lad posted a picture of a pole vaulting girl and was told off by her lawyer father, then decides to retire his posting name on a forum about football, after which fellow posters decide to close off the forum to the public in an attempt to lure the picture posting numpty back.

Keep the general Open to the public! I don't see the need for people to post pictures of young girls on here. I certainly don't feel the need to.
