He has no positional awareness, combined with his severe lack of pace, that's a recipe for disaster.

Damn Harry, what happened? This is not the Maguire from last season.
This is not a this season issue, it’s a seasonal issue. Not the first not the last time.
He was similarly shit vs Spurs
This is one of the more imaginative excuses I’ve seen for a player on here.At times, he's being left at sea by the lack of shape on either side of him. Lindelof and Shaw have been all over the place, and Maguire keeps diving in to singlehandedly save the situation.
Ironically, he'd look better individually if he stopped trying to correct other players' mistakes. Which is not to say he's been flawless himself. He's made more than his share of errors. But his desire to take on all the responsibility himself makes him look even worse.
I take the opposite view: the only reason he is rated at all is because he's English. He is an average CB.I've said it before, If he wasnt english he'd be much higher rated.
One of the most under-appreciated players we have. He's been a good signing
Our left back is AWOL for all 5 goals and it's Maguire's fault? Cool.
Ah yes, apologies, instead of going AWOL he decided to play them onside instead for the first goal I think?Who was the last man for the opener?
40 CBs in the league. How high would you rate him? I am not sure he's even in the top half. The Brentford CBs are outclassing him this season. I certainly would not put him above any of the CBs playing for Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City, Leicester, Everton, Spurs, maybe Brighton (but probably not), maybe West Ham. I think you have to start looking at Wolves or lower to see players he is markedly better than as an all-round CB. Heading the ball seems to be his one attribute but it's done feck all for us. He's slow to react, slow on the turn. I just don't see how he is rated highly by anyone.I legit don't get the hate for Maguire. He's one of the best CB's in the league on his day. Granted, his performances for United this season have been less than pleasing, but let's face it, he's in good company in that department. Can any United player say they're proud of their performances this season? Not really.
Try being a United defender these days with arguably the most ineffective midfield in the league as your protection. It's no picnic.
This is a ridiculous post, he's an automatic starter for every team you have mentioned except Liverpool & City - and even City wanted him before he came to Old Trafford. I appreciate he isn't playing well at the moment but realistically he's alongside Lindelof who is worse than useless and Luke Shaw who has forgotten that he is supposed to be a defender, and that's without even mentioning the goalkeeper.40 CBs in the league. We need to hire some random Greek blokes who shout abuse at him from the stands in an attempt to ignite some fire in him.
He was great for the 2nd as well.Ah yes, apologies, instead of going AWOL he decided to play them onside instead for the first goal I think?
Pretty sure he was reported crying during interogation and emotionally scarred. In fact thats when his performance started to drop.We need to hire some random Greek blokes who shout abuse at him from the stands in an attempt to ignite some fire in him.
One must face his fearsPretty sure he was reported crying during interogation and emotionally scarred. In fact thats when his performance started to drop.
Yes, yours is a ridiculous post. It doesn’t matter who wanted him years ago, the question is who would want him now? No one in the top half would swap with us.This is a ridiculous post, he's an automatic starter for every team you have mentioned except Liverpool & City - and even City wanted him before he came to Old Trafford. And who also did not track the midfielder back?Ah yes, apologies, instead of going AWOL he decided to play them onside instead for the first goal I think?
No way is he an automatic starter for Chelsea. He can't do anything our defenders can do. He is so limited with the ball and can't score to save his life or defend for that matter. This is a ridiculous post, he's an automatic starter for every team you have mentioned except Liverpool & City - and even City wanted him before he came to Old Trafford. Absolutely spot on. I’ve been a big critic of Maguire as captain, it’s an important factor of the team and he’s simply not a leader and you can tell the players feel the same way about it. But Ole is really playing a glorified version of Fantasy Football and sees Maguire as some sort of Roy of the Rovers figure. It’s also telling that he hasn’t picked up on De Gea’s weaknesses in goal and the confusion in the centre of the field of Fred and McTominay.https://www.espn.com/soccer/manches...ers-after-leicester-defeat-look-in-the-mirror
Any one who really thinks Harry Magdire is an important, positive influential force in MUFC play.. sigh. I think it's just yet another sign that Ole is just not cut out at this level.
