Madrid are preparing a £95m bid for Rooney

Just what we need. Sell Rooney to reduce a little bit of the Glazers' gargantuan pile of debt, just what happened when Ronaldo was sold. No need to cry about this, it's just business as usual. The Glazers are the best owners in the world and only think of the best for our club. The manager has been saying so for years so it must be true. If we are lucky maybe they will save a dollar or two from such a sale so we can buy Scholes new shoelaces. That wouldn't be so bad?

This sort of post doesnt the campaign against the Glazers more harm than good. Turning everything into some sort of comment on them only bores peoples and detracts from serious discussions on them, so put a fecking sock in it.

This.

Anyway, this sale will never happen. Mourinho has already told Real not to bother trying to buy Rooney. Just another newspaper journalist wum who was a bit bored and thought of a nice story to sell papers.

If it was true, then I'd pack Wayne's bags for him.

It would be a brilliant deal.

Would it feck! Kaka has a chronic injury and doesn't fit into our system, Benzema has got the heart the size of a pea and lacks the mental strength to succeed at a club like Madrid or United.

We'd basically be swapping Rooney for Higuain plus a load of cash that would be not doubt put in the safe and barely be used cue the "no value" nonsense we've been fed for the last 2 years.

Anyway, back to reality. If Real were serious about getting Rooney, it'd be all over the Spanish press. This is just the English press smelling blood and stirring the pot. Simple as that.

If these "sources in Spain" exist, why aren't they reporting it in Marca, AS etc? The reason is that the whole story is the brainchild of The Sun, NOTW, The People etc etc

Tabloid journalists are a disease. I would quite happily see the NOTW, Sun, Mirror and Mail disbanded tomorow

I can't stand them. The way they moralise about 'celebs' when they themselves are all probably doing coke just makes me sick.

The newspaper industry is dying and they're just getting more and more desperate for sensational stories. The thought that they'll all be out of a job eventually brings a smile to my face.

And Marca and AS are very reliable? This story is complete rubbish but AS and Marca are not really sources you trust.

And it's a little more than disturbing seeing the ease with which people are ready to drive Rooney to the airport

Why? There's not that much between them and Rooney actually wants to be here.

Obviously if Ronaldo wanted to come back.

Rooney is a great player, could well be one of the best 5 players in the world if he adds some consistency.

Ronaldo is already THE BEST (IMO, don't want another Messi debate).

Given his current form and the way he's disgraced the club if we get a half decent bid in he can go.
I'm joking. Obviously.

If rooney's wife kicks him out then i could see this happening, ask me same question last year and i'de say no.

Dream on. This is a forum on the internet and you want me to "put a fecking sock in it"? Go hump your leg. :boring:

Point I'm making is that if Real were intent on signing Rooney, they'd do what they always do which is unsettle the player through Marca and AS which then filters through to the British press.

That's not the case this time. It's just oppurtunistic journalism on the back of the sex scandal.

Wow, I can't believe some users on here would be willing to let go of their player for any x amount of dollars!

I know if someone had offered cash for the likes of Maldini, Costacurta, Nesta, Pirlo, etc. I would discontinue support, even if it was a large sum of cash and they were in their later years.

I understand what you're saying (apart from the quit support)

what ever happened to players who are apart of the fabrics of the club and mean something?

football is not just FM

Ignore them. They play football manager and are more interested in star-studded 25 man squads rather than having the right blend of everything in a squad. All you need to do to know that is think back to the ********s over the likes of Silva, Benzema, and Ozil in the not too distant past.

Some players are indespensable not only as players but as symbols of a club. Just like Giggs, Scholes, Neville, Maldini, Costacurta etc. Rooney falls in that category for United IMO.

exactly

Kaka, Higuain and Benzema for Rooney?! Tempting?!

Not in the slightest bit tempting, Kaka hasn't done much for years and has always been very over rated, Benzema has been a flop at madrid and Higuain is very good but not as good as Rooney. Think that deal would only weaken us to be honest.

I wouldn't want Rooney to leave for any price or player.

What an embarrassing thread and where some people have let their true colours be known.

I hate what Wayne Rooney has done with these hookers, its disgusts and saddens me ... but there is no way in the world that I want him sold or even to be sidelined at our club. Offer us £200m and a new stadium and I'd still want the club to say no.

Rooney is our heartbeat , he was born to play for Manchester United. He style of play, work rate and passion personifies out essence as a club. He follows in the long line of players like Robson, Bruce, Cantona and Keane around whom SAFs great teams have been built around. Put simply, if Rooney goes, then we lose the soul of our current team and until we find another, it would be suicidal in terms of retaining our identity.

Anyone who thinks any different either knows feck all about football, or worse for this board, feck all about Manchester United.

Please, don't mention Keano in the same breath as Rooney. Rooney has still much growing up to do to earn that honour.

Apart from that I agree with you. There's no reason to sell Rooney.

It was 65 mill when I went to bed so at this rate we will be able to pay the debt off if they hold off making an offer for a week or so.

I know it ain't aimed at me but who cares if Keano has moved on from MUFC? We've moved on from him also.

He helped us to win many trophies, captained us with distinction, and is without a shadow of a doubt a United legend.

It wasn't in his contract that he'd have to kiss our arse when he eventually left us, so he is free to think what he likes about us as far as I'm concerned.

Yep, I guess so..

Why would we sell Rooney? We preach loyalty to our players but we are willing to break that vow when the deal suits us, ridiculous.

Nail meets head

we all ask for loyalty but fans are so quick to swap with random Madrid players

loyalty never works both ways, if it's not some fans, then it's a club that's willing to trade you in

Makes sense. Everyone knows if you want to escape the media spotlight the best place to go is Real Madrid. :wenger:
