Macheda to Newcastle/Sunderland?

I don't mind where Macheda goes so long as its in the Premier League and he gets games. Going to Sampdoria last season was odd, Italian football is very different in pace and physicality than the English league and the best thing for his career would have been to go on loan to an English top flight team. I'm surprised with their striker shortage that Everton haven't had a crack at Macheda that'd be a great place for him to go.

Been thinking the exact same thing.

I know how he and Welbeck are to be compared naturally because they played with each other as they progressed through the academy and reserves but I think that people should be giving Kiko more time to develop instead of saying 'its make or break' so often. People forget that Welbeck is almost a full year older than Macheda...

Not everyone is Wayne Rooney/Cesc Fabregas at 20 so I would suggest giving him time. He clearly has a lot of potential despite being rough around the edges as shown last season. I think if he could get a good break like Welbeck/Cleverley/Evans have through a loan then he could use it as a stepping stone like they did, because the Sampdoria loan clearly wasn't the best option. A Premier League loan is obviously what we want but we musn't force the issue, but rather find him the right situation.

I don't think Newcastle's the best place to go not because of the bad history we had loaning Rossi there but because the place is a media circus and is probably the last thing somebody like Macheda needs.

I wonder if we could get Martinez to take him to Wigan. He could play on the left like Chunks and Welbeck did on their loans, and get rotation time at striker.

He looked quite good in pre-season, I thought. You'd think they'd be lining up for him.

He should have gone. Cant see him getting more than 2-3 late sub appearances. Not sure he'll get much Carling Cup minutes either.

He had a shitty time out on loan, is clearly delighted to be back at United and is still just a kid. Makes perfect sense to let him build up his confidence with a few months reserve football and have a think about another loan in the second half of the season.

A few months in the Championship and maybe a loan deal to a premier league club in Jan.
Its still possible

What about Diouf? Could have flogged him for a few quid in the summer too but chose not to.

Nothing for a week iirc, then we can loan players to the lower leagues, but they cant be long term(season long) loans

He should go on a loan to a Championship side, realistically he isn't goint to play more than five games for us between now and January and that's not enough for a promising 20-year old striker who hopefully will make it here.

In a perfect scenario he will go to a lower division side now and score loads of goals to build up his confidence, then go on loan to a Premier League side in January and get used to the league. Then I'd like him as our fourth choice next season with Berbatov possibly gone (still think we should have just let both Owen and Berbatov go this Summer and promote Macheda to 4th choice which means 15-20 games a season).

I don't think Ferguson wanted £6m for Diouf, it would have been mental.
