Nothing is so common as the wish to be remarkable.
Seems to be reported by media. Will post links as I get it.

Will be the right choice for him to go on loan right now. Sunderland have done well with Welbeck. And we have good core of former United players there. Would he fit into their scheme? Well, do they need him at all?

Not sure about Newcastle, although i think he's mates with Obertan so that could help. But Sunderland has a manager Fergie seems to trust, good facilities and he's got familiar faces in O'Shea and Brown there to help him out.

I'd like him at both, they need strikers desperately (Newcastle barely have anyone apart from Ba, and Sunderland only really have Gyan) and he would definitely get games. He should be fine as a 4th choice striker at United and seems to have a good impact coming off the bench.

Of course we need him given the injury proneness of some of our other forwards. But if a move to Sunderland could do for him what it deed for Welbeck, I'm all for it.

If we didn't sign Owen again I'd think we were going to keep him as our 4th striker, that is if we're no counting Rooney, then he's 5th. But you could also say Berbatov is back up for Rooney and not Welbeck/Chicharito, I suppose.

I just think it would be selfish to keep him. Part of me would like to let him settle again for a bit, perhaps 6 months here and then a loan would be the best compromise. Would let him play as many CC games as we can win.

No Italians at either club, sadly, but plenty of ex-Red Devils.

The last time we loaned an Italian to Newcastle. :nervous:

We should have loaned him to a premier league club last season rather than Sampdoria.

Sunderland would be a better option for him than Newcastle, he'd play more with the Mackems as they are short on strikers.

One year for Danny made him so much more experienced and ready. I reckon a loan to another PL will do the same for Kiko.

Yep, and with Bruce being a trusted friend, I'm sure we can count on him to play Macheda.

He may have to play on the wing a fair bit, like Welbeck did. I wonder if he will take to that position as well as the former did.

Hope he gets plenty time playing as the striker, furthest up, as well.

Not Newcastle!

Hopefully a team where he'll get more chances and that play some decent football as well.

Personally I don't think he's as good or as versatile as Welbeck, so he might find it tougher to get into the Sunderland team.

That was Allardyce and they were in big trouble then.Could hardly blame Sam for going with experience rather than take a punt with a young player.

Bruce on the other hand took the gamble with Welbeck...but remember the stick he took early onwhen the lad was finding his feet

Normally would prefer to see him at Sunderland (better Utd connections, prefer Bruce to Pardew etc.) but Sunderland have Gyan, Wickham, that Korean chap, Campbell to come back, and are in talks (apparently) with Wolfsburg over Patrick Helmes.

Contrast with Newcastle, who have Ba, Best and Lovenkrands as their main strikers, plus Santon is arriving (another Italian) and Obertan and Simpson are there... Think Kiko'd get more game time at the Toon

It's always going to be lightly harder for Kiko as he's not versatile like Welbeck, so he'll only play upfront. But Looking at the Newcastle list, he has a good chance of being third choice. His record as a sub will probably make him an attractive option off the bench.

I'd say Best, Ba and Ameobi would all be ahead in the pecking order.

Oh, and his agent has just said they're talking to Newcastle and QPR (according to twitter):

His agent says he's likely to go to Newcastle.

QPR would be the much better move. He'll start much more there. Newcastle (and Sunderland) are too big for Macheda in his development curve right now. Welbeck was very fortunate that Campbell got injured because it gave him a chance to establish himself.

Sunderland would be perfect for him, why not go there?? QPR isn't even an option and Newcastle is a bad one as well..

How so? Sunderland have a bunch of strikers including two young promising talents who need game time to develop.

In comparison QPR and Newcastle have Championship level strikers, and would provide Macheda with a lot more gametime

Why would QPR not be an option?

For me any PL club is fine. And if he is good enough he will start.

Necastle would be my 1st choice out of the 3 mentioned

He would get more games at Newcastle I would think.

I mean, Leon Best, Demba Ba and Shola Ameobi. He must get in ahead of those players.

Sunderland have Gyan, Sessegnon, Wickham, some Korean bloke plus one of two I have probably forgotten.

QPR would also be good. Although another relegation battle may not be a great thing for him.

Newcastle are lacking quality up front though so he'll surely get a chance.

Leon Best? :nervous:

QPR Would be a worse team but he'd get alot more games. Not quite sure what would be best for him. Think more games tbh.

Be interesting to see what happens to him come the deadline.

He is a striker. He needs to score goals. Him playing a lot would not matter than much if he can't score and contribute. Look at what happened when he went to Sampdoria. If you don't score, you might start to lose confidence. So playing a lot of games isn't everything.

According to The Times's George Caulkin, Newcastle are in talks to sign Modibo Maiga of Sochaux and Manchester United's Federico Macheda. Eurosport 14.00 31/08/2011

I don't mind where Macheda goes so long as its in the Premier League and he gets games. Going to Sampdoria last season was odd, Italian football is very different in pace and physicality than the English league and the best thing for his career would have been to go on loan to an English top flight team. I'm surprised with their striker shortage that Everton haven't had a crack at Macheda that'd be a great place for him to go.
