Lyrically Great Bands

Yeah, but Ronaldo never missed 1 in 3 did he?

LA Woman, Alabama Song, Light My Fire, for instance aren't all that great for me

Songs like Yes, The River Knows and The End are great

Not a one off

That would be true if it wasn't so wrong.

Morrison didn't write Light my Fire for a start it was Robbie Kreiger.

Also the Beatles wrote their fair share of shite tunes too, are you gonna tell me they aren't lyrically great too?

I've never been into Beatles

I could list more Doors examples if arsed

No need, not worth arguing about, opinions and all that.

Get your name down for the top 100 albums list if you think you know your onions.

Jim Morrison is one of the greatest lyricists in the history of rock music.

He'd studied poetry since he was a child and wrote numerous publications (how many rock stars have done that?). Jim Morrison was a poet, then a rockstar.

You have to understand what's he's writing about to appreciate some of it.

Surprised no one has mentioned the Presidents of the United States of America. "Kitty at my foot" was a lyrical master piece surpassed only by the genius of "Millions of peaches".

Little bag of bones been out all night
Little bag of bones been out all night
Kitty, you're scratchin' at the screen door
Kitty, you're scratchin' at the screen door
Little bag of bones been out all night
He needs some pettin' and lovin' on his head
He needs some pettin' and lovin' on his rain-soaked hide
He's circlin' round my ankle
He's circlin' round my ankle
He needs some pettin' and lovin' on his hide
Oh kitty, won't you come inside
