Haven't you got the memo, Ravi? We don't want him. :wenger:

Agreed. I think he could turn things around. At least he wants the job.

Jose not only would get us back in the top 4 but it would be much MUCH easier to sign the star players that we need....assuming Woodward doesnt feck up the bids.
Some of us have no clue how lucky we are as a club to have someone like Jose wanting and waiting to manage us.

TBF... just replacing the manager just might give us the lift to get back in and stay in the top 4.
We get 3 new players in the summer (Laporte, Griezmann & Gundogan) and we'll be challenging for titles again.

Everyone except the board might be able to understand this.

Replacing the manager will mean, renewed confidence...especially if it is Morinho who is well respected.

The only replacements for players would be for long term injuries. At most one or two. The league is still so open. Top 4 would be easy. Perhaps even better.

Knowing our luck Pep will take the City job and Jose will be his Assistant telling us we missed the boat!

I am gobsmacked that he's not our manager yet.

Following United now is like watching your formerly hot wife get uglier/lazier by the day and yet inversely she gets more and more arrogant. She promises every summer she'll undergo a brilliant weight loss regime, spends shit loads on gym membership and somehow ends up going on an eating binge and comes back twice as big.

She doesn't even do the chores anymore and yet she is more than happy to take your credit card, your hard earned cash and spend it on trashy clothes, which don't even fit her properly but never anything of any real class or quality.

Some days she'll cake herself in makeup and fool you into thinking she's still got it, confusing you into shagging her now and then.. but the next morning the reality sets in. You just humped a pig with lipstick on.

One thing you could give her credit for was she was a decent mum. She was reknowned for her maternal instinct, it is what made her such a sweetheart in the first place... now you'll be lucky if she ever turns up at parents evening. She thinks they get in the way now and that she's spent her whole life putting them first.. now its her time and she doesn't care whether you approve or not.

Gets to the point where you can either still 'love and support' her no matter what.. or you threaten the fat mess with divorce and move out temporarily. Either she fixes up or she's gonna lose you.

If your wife sees that you are a dead man.

The only excuse for not hiring Mourinho would be a written contract with Pep. That's fantasy stuff, so the board is simply inept.

It is almost unexplainable...the only plausible explanation is that we have already signed Pep and dont want Giggs to tarnish is rep by being an interim manager...or something.
My gut tells me that Pep has already decided on city which would leave us right up shit creek next season and without a paddle.

Even Liverpool are going to Wembley; we're going nowhere.

Up shit creek with Louis Van Gaal.

*shudder*

At this point, I'm almost anti-Pep. He doesn't fit the club's ethos in my opinion. He's a great manager, sure, but there's more to United than the notion of the United way. Everything great that's come out of Manchester has had a certain arrogance, a swagger that adds to its appeal. Jose embodies this quality more than Pep, I think.

Maybe the club will buy Wembley. I mean, we might not actually win anything there, but at least we'll have possession of it.

Maybe SAF don't like him either, despite what seemed to have been mutual respect?

Only palatable reason that LVG hasn't been given the heave ho is because there going to be a massive re-org which results in a Director of Football, which means we need to hire that person first before getting a replacement head coach.

I'm surprised Paddy went in with both boots, he's usually on board with the publicity/propaganda machine that is MUTV.

Interesting point of view, I'd say Pep has arrogance and swagger but it isn't as unashamedly arrogant like Mourinho. The latter is basically, what you see is what you get wheres Pep seems to care alot about how he is perceived and comes across a tad deceptive at times.

If we asked Pep to manage and he is stringing us along then it is only common sense to go with the proven manager who actually wants the job...he will try harder and this will filter down to the players. I get the sense that Jose really wants this and I, in turn, want to give him a shot. He should have taken over after SAF left IMO.

Lets correct that mistake and get him on board and watch us get back in the top 4, some people here say we have a bad squad and I totally disagree...how do you explain Leicester being first?
How good is their squad?

there's a sea change in opinions and openness even at MUTV.....how do you defend the indefensible

Keane would be loving it

  1. The largest fan base in the world.
  2. 75 000 at each home game, only second to Barcelona in the world.
  3. Signed numerous lucrative sponsorship agreements.
  4. A very proud and illustrious history.
  5. One of the biggest clubs in the world in terms of revenue, competing with the likes of Barca, Real and Bayern.
  6. Crashed out of the CL, 5th in the PL and a high probability to finish outside top four. Playing an incredible dull football.
LvG must be replaced but will that be enough? What about Woodward? What about our scouts?

On footballing terms, we must be the worst managed club in the world. Financially we are a very well run club.

And to be honest, this rot started during Fergie's final years after we sold Ronaldo. Will replacing LvG and buying 3-4 new players be enough?
Attendance is higher than Barcelona, only dortmund are higher

Like others have said, the failure of LVG to have been sacked yet points to possible progress with Guardiola. It's a risky strategy though and we will probably end up flat on our backsides.

It would make no sense to sack LVG if Giggs has no interest in the interim job and we have no interest in giving it him permanently. The issue then is who do you bring in in the interim. If as above we believe Pep will sign for us Mourinho is out of the question.

We all just have to accept this season is a write off, each game is going to be a struggle and look forward to the summer and next season with Pep, Neymar, Bale and Gaitan (inevitably).

I'm not sure Ferguson has much influence in all honesty. Everything seems to be pointing towards Woodward.

Those 3 players will still leave us very short of pace upfront, and too dependent on Rooney. We would need a new striker and a new winger as well.
