Luke Shaw - The Centre Back

Now I want to see what he can do as cdm when casimero is either injured, suspended or rested, I bet he would do a better job than mctominay.

The guy could saves us bomb on transfer fees if he can cover as lcb and defensive mid.
 
He's been absolutely great there. Had my concerns playing him there against City today but was totally wrong. I would say this though - I think playing alongside Varane can make almost anyone (almost) look world class...what a Rolls Royce of a CB Varane is. Having three of them there now is great in case Varane can't stay fit. We have options with Malacia able to play at a consistently high level at LB now.
 
An unexpected but quality run of form from Shaw in the middle. Looks really classy there and probably enjoys it as you've got more space and more areas to pass into.
 
He has been amazing as a CB. The only problem is we have Martinez now as well as a LCB. So as a rotation option it’s really good to have a left footed CB.

I suspect Shaw played today because Ten Hag felt City would try and target the height differential with Haaland

What's clear is that none of us have thought of Shaw as a CB and be as good as he has, there's a case now to look at considering using Martinez has a DM at times
 
I'm starting to believe that ten hag may actually prefer shaw over martinez at lcb, it will be interesting to see if this trend carries on for the rest of the season

No chance, he just isn’t match fit, had an extra 2 weeks off for partying after winning the WC, he’ll be back there in time

Ten Hag has somehow figured out how to get the best out of Luke Shaw. Long may it continue

No chance. We missed Martinez passing from the back today and Im sure Ten Hag was not entirely happy with our possession play today.

Remember a couple of years back when I read he's 185cm and was shocked... thought he was something around 175-177cm. Must be his body shape fooling our eyes he's shorter

The only problem for me is that we don't have the best left back in the world at left back when he's in the centre.
