Luke Shaw | Deal done! Almost...

I don't know why everyone uses the Rio transfer as a comparison to this. He was 23, already played a bucketload for Leeds (who previously spent nearly £20m for him) and had around 40 England caps already. He was a sure thing, Shaw, for all his talent, isn't, no 18 year old ever really is.

Still, I don't care, I'm glad we got him.

Whilst that is true, for an 18 year old he has quite a lot of experience playing at the top level (relative to other 18's). He's still got lots of potential which may or may not be reached, but he's already progressed significantly to be a solid player for us IMO.

I'm not head over heals happy with this signing, I recon we could have got a good enough left back elsewhere for less, allowing us to invest elsewhere in the squad. However, I'm much more confident than I would normally be with 18 year olds that he's likely to succeed.

How could Sky Sports confirm this if it hadn't been completed yet?

Dunno, the Beeb have too though, and they're incredibly reliable. Apparently he briefly changed his twitter profile to read that he was a United player but then got rid of it.

In other countries than England, this transfer is seen as ridiculous, so everyone is like United are morrons, they have lost their mind etc.

Aye, its not as if you would get a club like Real Madrid spending almost £30 million on a Prodigal young domestic defensive talent.

oh wait ....

EDIT: This is the deleted one...

That's exactly my point. Sky and BBC both confirm this, why do people need to press F5 as if the world was about to end?

Both had prematurely confirmed that Pogba signed a new contract with us.

There's a lot of things that humans don't need to do, but we fecking do them anyway.
