We haven't pulled out, Dybala doesn't want to come, and there is no way that Inter can raise more than £60m for Lukaku.

I do actually because it falls completely inline with the clubs perspective after bringing in Ole. Just because it upsets transfer muppets, doesn't mean it isnt true.

that's how I see it. Having said that, we're probably starting the season with no replacement for Herrera, no cover for the ageing Matic, with no DOF and with DDG's contract not yet sorted. Nothing surprises me at this club anymore

I am confident about our youth, so would not care about him being sold.
I am confident about us struggling again this season if we only manage to bring in Maguire without replacing him. Lukaku may not be the answer but to rely on our current options is madness.
No, it is not. Lukaku is not some player on the level of Ronaldo that we cannot replace. I think our young players can replace him just fine. I would rather try and get Fernandes for the money of Lukaku, as it will add to our midfield, an area we do need some more bodies in.

I dont rate Lukaku very highly myself. A striker with no first touch has no business being at us. But... he is a proven, experienced goal scorer which we're in no position to be turning our noses up at. Rashford is not good enough yet to become main striker, Martial has zero experience and Greenwood is 17. Do you really believe we can get top 4 with them? I dont.
And I struggle to see how we are going to find a team willing to meet our valuation of Lukaku. Inter can't afford him & Juve were only interested so they could create funds. Without Dybala, that deal seems dead.

Yep, the Glazers are lousy owners. It's eerily similar how Tampa Bay are run, even down to having a clueless bulletproof general manager running the show.
They have quite a few players we'd potentially be interested in. I think inter will structure a deal prior to the window closing as Conte is hard for him.

Never had faith that we’d bring in a replacement if he was sold, the fact that is looking even more likely is damning at how badly organised we are. It’ll be dressed up like we’re putting faith in youth, but we’re simply penny pinching again I think, and not having a good enough plan.
We can get top 4 without Lukaku I am confident about that. All this crap about being a proven goalscorera yet he barely scored more goals than Rashford and Martial. I expect them to both score more this season, and the likes of Greenwood, Chong and Gomes to step up as well. We need an improvement on Lingard and Mata though. They should not be starters, and we need more quality in that position.

the problem goes deeper then that. If we had a top quality midfield then that wouldn't really be an issue. If Rashy gets injured then We'll move Martial upfront, with Sanchez and Greenwood acting as backup. However we don't have that. Our RW is virtually non existent, our CM is made up of players who are finished at top level (Matic), or not good enough (Fred and Periera), or not good enough yet (Mctominay) which makes us totally reliant on Pogba whom he wants out. So lack of quality in midfield will mean we'll have to convert the limited chances created from midfield into goals.
Whom exactly would you want from Juventus? Matuidi? Madzukic? Most of these players have 1 foot in their career's grave.
United should have spent the dosh to replace Matic, Herrera and bring 1-2 top quality wingers. Only then we could have said, feck it, lets sell Lukaku, move Martial upfront and then buy no one.
For Inter best option will be signing Lukaku for 75 and swap Icardi-Dybala.
For Man Utd best option sell Lukaku for 80 and sign Neres

I just don't understand what weird fantasy some of our fans are living in where suddenly Martial, Rashford would start scoring goals regularly when there is absolutely zero precedent behind it?
Ole was in-charge of 21 games in PL last season, do you know many goals Martial and Rashford scored in those 21 games? Rashford scored 7 while Martial scored 3. Much maligned 'Donkey' 'Doesn't fit into Ole's vision' Lukaku scored 6. Now with a teenage Greenwood, a championship signing in James the productivity will suddenly go up? Despite no quality being injected at all in midfield?
You guys are setting yourselves up for a disappointment in nothing but blind hope that with a pre-season, this youth camaraderie will click and we'll be scoring goals freely. That may happen in FM/FIFA career mode but it doesn't happen in reality. I can see us really struggling for goals this season (even if we keep Lukaku) selling and not replacing him would be even more mental and most likely result in Ole being out of this job by Christmas.

Bentancur or Bernardeschi. They are improvement on what we have in midfield/wings.
They offered us Dybala plus Mandzukic, so it'd be a similarly priced replacement for Dybala which wouldn't be Matuidi. A week ago I'd have happily taken Kean and Rugani for Lukaku, but that's in the past. They have a very talented squad and I'm not on the ball with what Ole is looking for, I can see issues, but how he intends to resolve them isn't my prolem to solve. There are many Juve players who would be great here.
Icardi and Dybala have no offers and are only used as trading chips. While Lukaku has not one but two teams fighting over him.

I'd prefer to keep Lukaku as an option instead of selling him with no replacement. I don't have confidence that Rashford and Martial can lead the line for an entire season.
