Lukaku and Sanchez - cut our losses? Poll now added

Should we cut our losses on Sanchez and Lukaku in the summer?

Both should go. Lukaku could possibly be a good squad player, if he didn’t cost £75m (or £90m) and have 4 years left at £275k p/w. Sanchez is Championship level now, and won’t ‘improve once he settles’. At his age, he will only get worse from here.

I’d cash in on both and get someone more befitting of the profile they have within the squad like Josh King, for squad player money and wages.

I keep flip flopping between the two, or both.

As of right now I'd rather keep Rom and get Sanchez out. He's 30, his legs are gone and he produces feck all. At least Rom gets a few goals here and there and his overall play has improved recently, plus he's only 25.

Still think Lukaku needs to improve to stay long term but at least he has a knack for scoring goals (can’t deny a precious thing like that).

Sanchez is pointless.

I think everyone realises Rom could be a useful squad player, but with his wages, it just doesn't make much sense to keep him for that role. I can't imagine him being happy with that either, so a sale would make sense for both parties.

Anyone wanting to keep Sanchez but sell Rom needs to give their head a wobble. Has to both (preferably) or at least Sanchez.

Feeling pretty happy with my vote at the moment.

Lukaku is more than capable of slimming down in the summer, getting a bit of pace and agility back in his game, and getting back to his best. In the meantime, he's continued to score goals, his main job, throughout this apparent 'slump' in form. And if nothing else, he's definitely good enough to keep as second choice striker behind Rashford.

Sanchez is a lost cause.

Both need to go. The trouble is, its the same problem of years gone by. Average players on high wages.

Sanchez isnt going anywhere unless he gets paid the same or more and i just dont see anyone willing to do that - not even Chinese clubs. Im convinced too there has been some underline issue with him for this sudden change, he is the only player not to improve under Ole.

Its the same for Lukaku, i think teams would be interestsd buy not for his wages.

Today was the first time he scored in 10 games.

He really hasn't continued scoring goals.

He has played as a RW for a few games, during which he contributed some good crosses. Rash has been playing Striker for almost all games since Ole came in.

Sell Sanchez, keep Lukaku for at least for a year

A
lexis is done. He should go definitly.
Lukaku is donkey but he can be usefull for us. He doesnt fit in Ole's tactics but he is perfect to come from bench when we cant break the oponent. The problem is he cannot accept to sit on the bench. If there are oportunity he might leave too but only if get replacment.

Few weeks ago my first pick to leave from attacking line was Mata then Lukaku then Sanchez and now is Sanchez then Mata then Lukaku.

They are good enough to batter smaller teams. But not dependable when we are up against quality opposition. There wage should be reduced if they are to play such a role in this team. However, Sanchez time seems to running thin and even at smaller role, he won’t be as effective. It seems the ridiculous amount of wage he is on, has made him think he can retire already and start a dog business.

Sanchez is certainly running out of time. Simply isn't showing much at all.

Lukaku will definitely stay. Scores and contributes. Plus you need a number of striking options. Solskjaer was brought up on that.

Unfortunately you can't reduce someone's wage without their agreement.

Sanchez has been dreadful. He should go, but his contract is so astronomical, we won’t find any takers. How painful is it paying his wages every week?

Lukaku is useful. He’s a big body. Facing goal, he actually not a bad passer or crosser of the ball. He’s also got a bit of a poacher in him. Not terrible in the air. Agree that his touch with a defender on his back is poor. Berbetov he’s not. If we can get north of 60m for him, I’d move him on, otherwise, keep him. We do need depth at striker, so if we sell him, we’d have to get someone else. I don’t think Icardi fits our tactics and he’s sure to cost north of 100m....

Rom is always worth keeping round to score v crap. Do you want him v City's, Liverpools and big CL games? No but v trash like today he's great.

Send this game's tape across Europe, someone will bite.

Hihihi

Sanchez is awful. Just get rid of him. Bigger flop than Di Maria, Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger.

Change my vote to sell Sanchez keep Lukaku.

Not a knee jerk, I think Luakaku is finding his feet again and I am happy for his recent performances.

Sanchez is the worst player at the club. By some distance. His contribution is a net negative in every game he plays. No surprise we came to life the second he went off and replaced with someone who can move.

Disgraceful that Lukaku was being thrown into the same category. Sanchez is a finished player, Lukaku was just out of form but a player who still has formidable qualities. If we do decide to sell Rom we should be looking to recoup what we paid for him. His abilities are worth it for some club if not for us. I would be happy enough for us to pay out Sanchez's contract if it meant getting him out of the club. We seem to be playing him for the sake of the investment when there's no way Gomes or Chong could do worse.

Looks like Lukaku is gonna change my opinion. 2-3 more games of this and he'll win me over again.

Think like what's been said before, the only issue with Lukaku is his role/wages and the fact he might not be a definite starter.

Otherwise if it's one or the other, it's answer is obvious.

Too much to replace in one summer apart from what we already need if we sell both Rom and Alexis, so sell Alexis only.

Just casually came in here to change my vote from selling both to selling sanchez and keeping lukaku for another year. He deserves it till next week when I change my vote back to selling the 2.

That was a very significant goal by Lukaku at the end in context of Top 4 race. He's not an elegant and technical striker but he scores goals.

Plus, he hasn;t thrown a strop after playing second fiddle to Rashford since Ole's arrival. Keep Lukaku and try and fix the other areas in our team, mainly RB. Young needs to feck off seriously.

Hihihi

:D

Sanchez 100% needs binning. A big fat expensive mistake. No question about it at all.

Lukaku, even at his worst, can still get you the goals.

Sanchez, well...

Agreed. I gave him the benefit of the doubt with Ole coming in but he's been just as useless.

Sanchez to United is exactly the same as when Torres moved to Chelsea..... same dog shit performance
