Lukaku and Sanchez - cut our losses? Poll now added

Should we cut our losses on Sanchez and Lukaku in the summer?

The squad has no depth whatsoever. Whoever is the manager in the summer has his work cut out.

Lukaku, Sanchez and Mata can all leave provided replacements can be found. Mctominay, Periera and Fred aren't a great deal better but worth persisting with for another season at least.
 
Sanchez is completely shot, just looked pathetic out there tonight.
 
Bench Sanchez for good, replace him with a kid. Tell him he has no more futur and should look for a new club or enjoy the stands.

Our club is way too nice, we need ruthlessness in getting rid of deadwood. We should never renew contracts like the likes of Young. Rewarding mediocrity over and over again
 
Sanchez is honestly one of the worst attacking players I’ve seen play for the club. Absolutely useless for over a year, he’s lost his pace, can’t find a pass and his goal record is a complete joke.

He’s a massive problem for us because of his salary. A colossal feck up by the club.

Shades of Rooney in his last season with us.
 
I'm finally convinced. We're playing with 9 men, well 8 if you include Mata. Get rid.

If you watched carefully Martial was being tag teamed and didn’t have much of the ball to do anything with it because of the tactics, it is also why PSG were a non threat in the first half. After he was subbed of, look at how much damage was done on the right side with fullbacks pushing higher up.
 
Sanchez has lost all his agility. He still thinks his body can pull things of but it's just not going to happen for him. And he's no Giggs who can adapt either. He's finished at this level.
 
Sanchez looks like a man trying to do things his body won't let him do. Sad really.
 
Get rid ASAP. Pack in Mata, Young and Jones as well but don't tell the buyer.
 
I wonder if Sanchez himself realize that he's done? Must be so, so sad to keep trying, but always come up short.
 
Sell Sanchez, even if it's on a free. He offers nothing and takes huge wages. He should be told he has zero future at Manchester United.
 
I’d rather play with ten men than using Alexis again, the guy is completely finished at this level. A costly mistake by the club, but we need to cut our losses during the summer window. There is no place for passengers like him if we are serious about rebuilding.
 
I want to say something really mean about Sanchez but I'm afraid I might never get promoted. He's starting to really piss me off
 
Sanchez is beyond sad to watch, I'm actually annoyed when I see him play for us. I honestly thought things would be different under Ole, but it's exactly the same.
 
Wow, such quality from the bench :drool::drool::drool: Surely worth paying £700k a week for these 2 just for the squad depth alone.

Young has a place at our club against lesser oppo. He should never be considered first choice for nights like this.

Completely agree with Sanchez... Hopefully China come in sometime this month and take him away.

Spot on, the FBs were cautious in the first half with Martial and Lingard being a threat with their pace. Once they come off, the FBs were making more runs without worry.
 
How can a player with Sanchez's pedigree, who we had to compete with city to sign and who we signed for such huge wages be so utterly useless???? Him in particular but Mata as well are total non entities as attackers. Wed be better playing the kids ahead of them.

Yup. Exactly. Got to say Lingards presence also had good effect for similar reason.
 
Voted to get rid of both. Can't have two very high earners as subs. Plus we getting nothing from them on the pitch. It's taking up space and wages. Just cut our losses and press the reset button.

Never again should the club get 30 year olds and put them on ridiculous salaries. Nor should we get technically deficient players for huge sums and pay them crazy salaries. Let that be a lesson to the club.
 
As someone brilliantly put it the other day, there's no chance Sanchez will go to China when he's already on China wages. We'll have to subsidize his wages to get rid. You can't have the highest-paid player sitting on the bench every week.

I'd sell Lukaku too, not because he's a bad signing but because Rashford's better and he's not what we need off the bench.
 
Get rid of both.

Sanchez is absolutely finished, it's Rooney all over again without the 10+ years of nostalgia due to good service, we need to be brutal and get rid of him ASAP by whatever means necessary.

Lukaku try and recouperate £40-50m in the summer...

Neither are or will be at the level required.

I'll admit I was really excited when we signed Sanchez especially with his goosebumps inducing piano video.

Shame the video is the most exciting thing about him so far.

I'm on the fence a little but think if we can find upgrades it's time to move both on.

Maybe it's time we review player recruitment, spending £££'s on a marquee signing doesn't always guarantee success, I hate to use them as an example but look at what a steal Andy Robertson has been for Liverpool, yes they have the big money signing of VVD so you do sometimes have to splurge but look what hes brought in. I know Sanchez was technically free but is still a big name signing. What about Fred? Even Ole who is keen to use everyone hasn't played him what does that tell you.

Is this adding more support to the director of football argument? Is a review of the scouting network needed?

With the injuries to Martial and Lingaard can Sanchez and Lukaku be trusted to step up? Or do we turn to the kids eg Greenwood and co? Unfortunately they are huge games to be throwing them into, maybe hindsight is a wonderful thing but would have been nice to see them included as a couple of subs for the Fulham game as that was a perfect opportunity to bring them on and see how ready they are. Unfortunately at this point are freshly promoted kids better than the 2 "big name" signings?

How the mighty have fallen, there's a decent amount of deadwood that needs clearing out and the £350k a week man is top of the list
 
The moment when Sanchez came on it was game over. Sell Lukaku, Sanchez and Mata.
 
If there was ever a game that showed just how irrelevant Sanchez, Lukaku and Mata have all become. Lukaku you can kinda understand keeping as a squad player, even though it's a 75m squad player, but Sanchez and Mata barely ever make any sort of impact. They just need to go as the wages they take up is ridiculous. Lukaku ideally as well, but unfortunately it'll be hard to shift him as well. Get rid of all 3. Replace with a quality player who can start ahead of one of the current front 3 (and have them battle it out for the starting), give Greenwood more chances, and bring in depth who can actually come in and provide some similar qualities if not being as good as the starters. PSG lose pace in tricery out wide in Neymar, they bring in Angel Di Maria. Still has the pace and trickery. We lost Martial and have fecking Alexis Sanchez who is so far past it it's ridiculous.
 
Really shocked about how poor Sanchez has been for us. Compare what he has done here to his time at Arsenal, its a joke. He has been mostly invisible. Whats really sad is to see how well he played for the Chilean national team. He was dominant in recent Copa Americas. We need to sell him while he is still worth something because his stock has plummeted!
 
I don't understand how nothing comes off for Sanchez. It looks like works as hard as he can and doesn't give up. But nothing seems to amount to anything as end product.
