So supposedly we were one of the clubs Barca told Suarez he couldn't go to without a fee, along with City, Madrid and PSG. Besides the obvious he'd never come here cos of his past association with Liverpool, why were we on that list? Does Barca actually view us as competition in Europe? Or do they see us as an easy opportunity to squeeze some money from? Either case, strange the likes of Bayern and Liverpool weren't also on the list, but we somehow were.

"We can do things in the transfer market that other clubs can only dream of", that’s why.

Why didn’t Suarez go for Spanish dual nationality?

Most likely because Bayern and Liverpool don't pay as high wages.

being so successful at Barca, is there any issue in him going to Madrid team, or is that pretty standard?

Thought he was a cert to go to Juventus so him signing for another Spanish team having played for Barcelona is a twist.

Probably easier with his wife being Italian. I guess he also knew he'd opened a can of worms once he was caught, so going ahead with the transfer in any way would run the risk of actually getting done for it. Staying in Spain it will be forgotten about soon enough.
