His passing has been awesome at times though. Something you don't see as much for us, makes me wonder if we limit him a bit.

A 4-3-3 system is perfect for him I think. Big chance we will play it a lot more next season, so that should bring the best out of him.

Getting to watch a front three of Welbeck, Rooney and Nani is pretty much my biggest hope for next season, even if it's just a handful of matches.

We had Tevez too.

If he had not acted like a cnut....

--------Carrick-------Scholes---

Nani------Rooney--------Ronaldo

-----------Tevez--------------

Looks amazing when you line it out like that. Could just feck off Tevez altogether, stick Kagawa in Rooney's position and push Rooney up top too. That's before even talking about Valencia and Welbeck.

I don't think it'd have worked that well.In each team you need some sort of balance, this would remind too much of Madrid's galacticos.A assembly of extraordinary attacking talents don't necessarily make for a good team

Really?? Everyone of those players played a big part in our 2007/8 PL & Cl double winning team and the side that won the PL, League Cup, World Club Cup and reached the final of the CL again the following season, surely had they stayed together they would have likely got better together since they where all still young (with the exception of Scholes).

Difference being that Fergie's teams always play like a team. Rooney and Tevez would work their asses off with Nani putting in a shift like he does for us now. Ronaldo is the only one who would be allowed to slack on defensive duties. In fact Nani and Ronaldo are the only ones who aren't naturally suited to chase and harry out of the front 4. And that's not too dissimilar to Portugal's system, only with Rooney as a link between midfield and attack as opposed to an extra midfielder.

We rarely saw them play together at the same time, real football isn't like FIFA where you just put big name after big name in your starting line-up

Nani on future: “I’ve already won everything I could possibly win [at United] & football isn’t just the EPL. I want to broaden my horizon.”

From Voetbal International - Dutch football magazine.

Allegedly. Consider bullshit until proper source appears.

Same source that says Liverpool are spending 28m on that lad from Porto

Clear bullshit

This would be terrible news if true.

Going to take it with a pinch of salt, but Gill must keep Nani, and needs to spend the cash to keep him.

I'm willing to bet good money that those quotes are an absolute fabrication.

The same quotes were said about a month ago in the Daily Mail but worded differently (in an interview to a Portuguese radio station):

'Football is not only about England or Spain. It is possible to enjoy success in other countries.

He continued: 'I have fulfilled five seasons with United and obtained all the titles.'

And tweets not by the player are supposed to be posted in the twitter thread to speculate there.

While the tournament is going on the speculation will just continue. When Portugal are knocked out we'll find out fairly quickly one way or the other what is going to happen.

BS indeed.

I'm glad everyone has cleared this up and called it bullshit. Experts everywhere I see.

Can we not begin to consider there 'may' be something in the quotes? The rumours aren't going away. Put it one way, I wouldn't be surprised if he left this transfer window.

Fair enough. I'd normally keep tweets in the right place but manutdstuff aren't some random ITK clowns, they collect news and repost it. In this case they've obviously been duped by old quotes.

Since all Nani's recent thread activity has been about a transfer saga i thought i'd post this here as pogba's thread is locked.

http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896...e-against-moving-to-italy?source=breakingnews

Raiola saying that serie A is a third rate league, behind bundesliga, la liga and EPL in terms of what players want, and you should only go there if you really are keen to specifically go to a club. Lots of barbs. Yet he's sending Pogba there!

1) Posting it here is pointless, start a new thread if you want to do so or post it in one of the transfer threads.

2)I suppose thats the answer to your question.

I would. He's going nowhere and with a shift back to 433 next season I'm expecting a massive year from him.

Wasn't their the exact quote floating around few days back.

I think this guy has just posted the same thing and now this will make into newspapers.

The constant rumors of him going away worries me greatly. If his contract isn't sorted in the next month or so, I think he'll be sold unfortunately.

I hope he (kagawa) doesn't play as advanced as he would in a 4411. Hopefully a 4231 which will certainly give us more defensive solidity and a better chance to compete against the 3 central midfielders we'll certainly play most of the time. 4231 is the way to go! Our wide players can still hug the touchline when they want. Nani of course would be excellent at both of these things; central quick 1-2 interplay and creating centrally, as well as beating his man and crossing as he's been doing his whole career here. With ***** quite central and very creative, as well as rooney, hopefully we'll have some slick passing going through there. Valencia can smack the bullocks off wide as we know, and can certainly do decently centrally too

How do you know we're going to be playing 4-3-3 next season?

I think the signing of Kagawa (and the fact it's obvious Fergie has been trying to sign someone for that position for about 2 years now) is an indication we'll shift back to a 433 in a lot of games next season. Well, it's still the same 4231 really but with the 1 behind the striker being played by a midfielder rather than a forward (Rooney) making it a more conventional 433.

So yeh, pretty much the same, but different. If you know what I mean. The biggest difference is it allows the 2 wide men much more freedom going forward and to form more of a 3 up front which is why I call it 433. It's that role that suits Nani down to the ground IMO.

Me thinks a front 3 of Nani- Rooney and Welbeck would be:drool: with Kagawa pulling strings behind them.....

I see what you're saying and I like the thought of it too (mainly because I enjoy watching Welbz zup zup play) but realistically you've gotta think the likes of Young or Valencia will be more effective on the wing than Danny will.

It was be a HUGE set back if Nani leaves. He's probably the only player at the club who is so technically gifted with the ball at feet and not 35+. From what I've heard, Kagawa seems to be another one. We need more players like that so to lose someone who is among the top 5 dribblers in the world would take a dimension away from our play that we need.

He has 2 years left on his deal.
It'll be sorted out within the next 6 months.

We dont hand out new contracts (unless a player is on low wages and deserves a raise) with over 2 years to go.

The agent making noises is just the process starting. Its not new.

Ah, quickly someone......remind him he's not won an FA Cup yet. :D

It'd be really bad if we lost him because its absolutely certain whoever we replace him with would cost a lot and ask for wages as much as he'd want in his new contract.

You can't just go around selling your best players, surely it won't happen.
