Lucas Silva

Chelsea didn't really need Van Ginkel when they spent 8 million pounds on him...City the same with Rodwell

Just because they're well stocked in a position doesn't mean either team won't spent lots of money to ruin a young lad's career
Yes but then if the player is smart enough, he won't move to either of those clubs just because there are fellow Brazilians there.

Going by his name, nationality and position it's a green light from me.

Youtube compilations can be quite deceiving because they only squeeze in the good parts. But from the little evidence we have, there's plenty to like.

Plays a lot like Emerson - good reading of the game, neat tackling ability, shields/ blocks the ball well, seems genuinely two footed which is dying art these days, doesn't panic in confined spaces, passing is a bit inconsistent though - swings between economic and wayward - but there's potential and that can be refined by Van Gaal.

Overall looks like a good prospect and the kind of player we should be targeting as a long-term replacement for Carrick before the value rises up to 30 million. :)

I've never seen him play, but judging by his name, nationality, position, and age, he'd be perfect for us. Sign him up.

Imagine Lucas Silva,Ander Herrera,Andreas Pereira and Juan Mata in the same United midfield.

Lets be honest we have not had a stunning success rate wit CM's from brazil.

Third times the charm right.

They haven't been very successful recently when you look at their national team. Players like Gustavo, Paulinho and Fernandinho are all right but none of them would really merit a world class tag attached to them.

He's a beast in Football Manager  . Seriously though, I've heard he's held in very high regard in Brazil. I unfortunately didn't see any of the Brazilian league last season so I can't judge properly, but I'd definitely be encouraged by the prospects of signing him.

Does anyone watch Cruzeiro regularly? If so, where does he play and how does he play?

Ive never seen him play at all, but from speaking to someone who has, im led to believe he's a deep lying midfielder. Decent range of passing. Highly rated in Brazil.

If we're playing 3-5-2 as we are now, you have to put Shaw in that list too. That team's only going in one direction.

Never heard of the guy, but from the reviews I've read since we've been linked with him, he sounds like a beast in waiting.

Oscar has been awesome in the league considering his age. Would be great to see another Brazilian doing well in the PL. We don't see enough of them.

Looks like the type of player we need really.

Yeah theoretically he sounds like the ideal kind of player for us right now.

I like his name, age, nationality and position. Do want!!

he looks like younger Kaka.

His price for us will likely be closer to 15 million pounds. From some quick research on this kid, of whom I had never heard of before, he seems to be ideally placed in the #6 role. However, he offers a lot more than just a destroyer. Apparently he is quite comfortable carrying the ball forward and has a good passing range. Also, that You tube video showed him scoring a couple crackers that we will never, ever get out of Clevs or Fletch. Add to that his young age, if he flourishes, he could help form a core in our CM for the next decade, as opposed to the likes of Vidal who is quite a bit older and carrying a torn meniscus already.

Sounds good.

Why are people on Twitter saying Sky have reported he has put in a transfer request after a bid from us?

Worse than believing ITK is that, all they have to do is check the Sky website. I can't see anything.

Anderson out, Silva in. Sounds a fair trade.

Having watched his YouTube clips I'm softening to the idea of signing him, and hardening too.
