London 2012 - Track & Field/Athletics

I will be honest, I did not even know we had a runner capable of winning the 10.000m

Surprised by that. Aside from Ennis, Farah was considered the only Gold medal chance we had. He's also a favourite for 5'000m as well.

11.01 was the slowest time. New record. Great race.

what do they put in the water in Jamaica? How are they sprinting faster than everyone?

this comes a very close second

Agree with it. Absolutely awesome and have sat through pretty much all of it. So much for inspiring us to do athletics- it is turning us into couch potatoes!

Awwwwwww! That interview with Jess Ennis! She's crying! I'm so happy for her, such a humble lovely woman.

Jessica Ennis ... groovy poster girl!!!
Greg Rutherford .... take a bow and bask in the evening sun
Mo Farah .... You amazing amazing man!!!!!!!

14 Golds already ... Team GB: 3rd in the medals after only the superpowers of China and USA.

(i remember we only won 5 golds in the 1st Olympics I saw in Los Angeles in 1984!)

Wow - just wow - come on team GB ... make the most of home advantage and the amazing support you have.

So proud.

I tell you one thing, the difference between these Athletes and footballers is mind blowing. These guys are just so humble and so down to earth.

I feel prouder of these guys then I think I could ever feel for a footballer.

I roared like a lion when Mo one his race .... it was like when Owen scored that last min winner vs city for us to win 4-3 a few years ago.

Priceless

Kath Grainger another name which springs to mind.

I cheered so loud for Mo when he won, my throat actually hurts. Just amazing. Something to tell the great, great grandkids about.

Momentous night

One of the best nights sport I have ever watched. I don't think we should be using it as another stick to beat football with though.

The medal table will look better as well over the next few days as 2 golds up for grabs in the sailing which we have a good chance of grabbing and tennis as well.

I'm inspired! I aim to be the fastest guy on the block starting tomorrow.

From there, maybe Rio?

I think that not getting paid a stupid amount of money a week and being pampered from an early age has that effect.

Footballers can be picked up from as young as 10 by top clubs where they're given everything they need.

Whereas most of these guys are being driven everywhere by their parents until they can learn to drive themselves and only get any sort of mainstream attention when they actually win something.
